Not crazy about this particular song and I don't know the artist, but I have to think he has some Townes Van Zandt in his CD collection.
I do not understand the negative comments. The lyrics are exceptional; the music is very good; the delivery reminds me of Richard Hell circa Blank Generation, but with a more positive and deeper message.
I wanted to give this a 1. But then anything that compels me to stop what i'm doing and read the comments and lyrics deserves more consideration. I love all the listeners (and opinions!!) almost as much as this station. Thanks Bill, for the gift of pause.

Jeez, looks like this guy needs a bit of support. I've just tuned in on a wet Monday morning in Manchester at the start of a shift and this song gave me a serious lift. Suppose Manchester is the home of cheerfully depressing music so maybe it fits just fine with that!

Well, as always, I love that RP plays all kinds of music, regardless of popularity.
This one does come off as affected and self-aware, but the song does improve as it progresses past the spoken word vocals into the instrumental finish. Still, it's only a 5 or 6, IMO.
