Go there in real life, and be sure to hike a bit of the Kalalau Trail that starts just beyond Princeville. Bring real hiking shoes and LOTS of water ...
We have been there, many times ( Princeville at our timeshare) A very special place - we have hiked Kalalau. And enjoyed shave ice, the markets, watched the surfers and enjoyed the beauty and the chill of the folks that call it home.
Lucky them.

Hah! Right you are. 165 W, as opposed to 159 W for Port Allen on Kauai, the usual claimant.

I love Hawaiian slack key guitar.
You can keep your fake Don Ho crap. This is the real Hawaii.

Funny, and true...except maybe the weathermen....Long Live RP and Aloha to all!!
Interesting how similar this sounds and feels to zither music...nobody would think twice if this is played in an Austrian/Tyrolean ski resort.

We all be slackin' down here!
Enjoyed it the first few times, but now I find it tiresome. Maybe played too often, and always that one same song.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... Breathe. S'no wonder Hawaiians are the happiest state of people in the US.
Love the Hawaiian slack key! You can add more of it to the playlist any time you like.
This song is the reason I listen to Radio Paradise.
Just lovely on the ears - unlike Trace Bundy or the like whose guitar gymnastics detract from the musicality and thus the listening experience.

I just learned the other day that "popoki" means cat

I rarely enjoyed a soundtrack more than that one.
Just watched "The Descendants" on HBO, featuring George Clooney. This reminds me of the backing track for much of the movie. Nice stuff.

Perfect relaxing string slack
Thanks Bill

Such good stuff! Don't know how Bill came across this CD. I have the first volume and I think I bought it used in Berkeley at Rasputin's about a million years ago!

Back to Kawai I go.... I suppose there's some bad slack key guitar out there somewhere, but here on the mainland it's all good.
