Here, back, down a long and straight track
I have chose the long road
That leads me out to god knows
So I can't stop right now

Even the good stars can fall from grace and falter
Lose their faith and slide
But I can't get an ocean that's deep enough for my day

It's the first of the ascension
It's a sad way we've flown after the storm
And her last words were "I was only thinking of you"
In my golden days I was a slave

Well now it's time for to sound your voice
And capture what you're after
My ship was sold right up the river
But I'm not going down here

This journey isn't over
It's a long way to the house of Fitzcarraldo
And her last words were "I'm always thinking of you"
In my golden days I was a saint

Even the good stars can fall from grace and falter
Like lapdogs that stride that mystery
And her last words were "I'll see you down in history"
It's the only way that we can go
I shall eclipse you

It's a long way to Fitzcarraldo
I don't want to pray for you
In the name of something true

I'm bumping my original 6 to an 8.  You're right, it certainly picks up the pace, and I really like the drumming; it really got me into the track.  Add a cool bass line, and NICE!!  Also, noticed Glen Hansard is coming up soon in a couple of tracks.

LONG LIVE RP!

Agreed! First time hearing this... I imagine my 7 rating will change!
Well this is a new one to me and so are the Frames - and from Dublin which  is just over a hours drive from me.

It must have been my time in the musical wilderness and bringing up a family that meant they got under my radar.

I like them and the singer's style - a more forceful version of Mike Scott of the Waterboys.

Wikipedia says they are still an entity but there is not much new music in the last couple or three of years.

Maybe I will get to see them play live some day on this Emerald Isle...
The drummer, MAESTRO !

Ah, apparently I had the same reaction to this the last time I heard it.  {#Lol}

This track is epic, it starts as a slow burner and eventually engulfs you completely. This song rewards being cranked up to realistic levels on a decent hifi.

Check out the live version on YouTube, search 'Frames Lolapalooza Fitzcarraldo'. There are several but one is quite good audio quality.

Love the song, but the live version he did with The Swell Season on "Strict Joy" is better.
Huh.  Sounds like Blue October.
Any song named after a Werner Herzog film is all right with me. This one is pretty good, to boot.

It is Glen Hansard singing on this tune.

Beginning to like the Frames and Glen Hansard, after all these years :)
No to the music.  Yes to a decent Werner Herzog film.
Where is the music? I can't here anything!

I was about to say the same thing!
