Where do we go?
And all the people, they sure don't want you to know
They don't want you to know, oh
Livin' in chains, the heart's rearranged
You gotta lure it back, all of the time
Now tell me I'm right, oh
[Pre-Chorus:]
And I got a thing I really can't say
[Chorus:]
You've got a worried mind
I've got a worried heart
You don't know what to do
I don't know where to start
You let this beat us down
Well get up off the ground
One day, I know
We've got to go, oh
Where is your mind?
The street is beating you bad
It's taken it's time, it's taken it's time, oh
Oh, where to run?
I told you to get, but you were having your fun
Now you're under the gun, oh
[Pre-Chorus]
[Chorus]
And all the people, they sure don't want you to know
They don't want you to know, oh
Livin' in chains, the heart's rearranged
You gotta lure it back, all of the time
Now tell me I'm right, oh

Wow. Some of the dumbest lyrics I have ever heard. But their groove made me listen.. My ambivalence towards this song is extreme!

Simply horrible.....sorry too much black keys on RP...overrated.
Only my opinion.

Current music just made my night!
I have 20 BK songs rated on RP...averaging 3.3...needless to say, I won't be buying any of their stuff. Garbagio.
Cocktail hour, cooking and talking. THIS comes on. Had to run in and check. Knew who it was but the song is new to me. I just love their sound....

Blasphemy. The artist needs tools. A good musician can make a shitty guitar sing. But when they have a choice, they select their own special tools for that.

The focus seems is often on Dan A (who is great of course) but the drumming for the BKs is always sensational. Patrick Carney is brilliant, and all the better in my book for falling out with "the Beliebers" :-)
Humans as consumers often use a simple heuristic: Popular is good. That's why marketers label things as "Best Sellers". It appeals to our common group think and makes our world easier for us. Now...keep that in mind and really listen to this band...

I don't think guitar players agree. As a matter of fact, my friend Randy Pease wrote a song he called "The Ballad of Rosalie" about the quest to reacquire a guitar which was pawned and sold. It charted when performed by Cody Canada. Not all guitars sound or play the same.
You've got that right. "A poor carpenter blames his tools", but... a good carpenter has his favorites. Guitars are all individual even among the same model. How it feels in the hands, tone, action, etc, every guitarist has favorites in their collection, if they have more than one anyway.

This sounds way too much like Liam Gallagher...
If the pre-chorus is always before the chorus...isn't it the chorus?
Beat changes don't break up the chorus...do they?

I love them ! Guitar + drum cool and performant duo
7 -> down to 5
Such a so beautifull song and album, really love the black keys :D
i imagine peewee herman on vocals with pulsating psychedelic background

At first, I thought, wow, I didn't realize so many people didn't like the BK's...then I realized it was just one person...I for one, don't think its overplayed...just overhated.

Gotta thank Dan Auerbach. The most crap guitars in my collection are now worth alot more because of him.

Any qualitative statement about art is opinion. Even if we all agree one way or the other, it is still opinion, and much more so when there is no consensus. This is, of course (and should go without saying), my opinion, which may differ from yours.
There's a subtle yet significant difference between the statements
"I hate everything from this band"
and
"Everything from this band is awful".
One is clearly an opinion. The other is put forth as some sort of tautology. Or premise, if you will. And it seems pretty obvious to me that that premise is false, if only because there are clearly many people who feel differently. Otherwise all ratings for this would be '1'.

They are simply a good garage band which became famous very quickly.
They do, however, put on a very good live show.
Having said that, I do not like this piece.

Horrible volume war production and formulaic sound make for tunes which get old very quickly. No more BK please.

Certainly true with this song. Sounds like a lot of other BK songs.
Good groove, but they're sure wearying it out.

Too loose, low-Fi garagy for my tastes.

Their falsettos are almost as revolting as Coldplay's.

These guys are so good live that I am going to go see them again for the second time in 3 months, They Rock!!
Man this has an excellent groove!
It would flow nicely into Amy Winehouse's "I'm No Good" too.

I love seeing the closed-minded haters, in the minority of listeners, posting against the same bands over and over again. Those bands aren't going away so maybe you should.
Very annoying sound. *Changes channel*
I like the mood of this and the retro sound they do so well, but the melody is quite similar to "Dead and Gone."

Please lighten-up on how much you play this band. It happens way too much and their songs are getting very old. At least play the rest of the keys..

This is another great song, from a surprisingly great band. One great song after another ... how do they do it?
I hear some tango in that groove....nice
Not-a-phukking-gain. Please stop playing this band so often. I love your radio station because it doesn't make me wanna switch-off as frequently as so many others, and you pick from glorious commendable selection of artists, but The Black Keys pop-up with alarming frequency, and it's getting severely moldy.
Big kisses - ppopp

I hope BillG adds the soaring opening track from this album, "Weight of Love," to the playlist. It's by far the best thing I've heard from these guys to date.
a definite grower....
groooooveeeee baby
Nice boys, pound those drums and rock on like old school! very cool
First!
