I feel so alone
without you boy
now I 'm here
hanging out in the street
thinking about reactions over actions
walking on the sky of my dreams
Come, come, my baby come
I will show you the world
Come, come, my baby come
I will cover your nightmares
Come, come, my baby come
I will love you forever
Come, come, my baby come
I will not let you go
My love, I just feel so lost
without you boy
I am yours even if time has passed
Take me away
from this impetuous world
leaving this jail of my mind
Come, come, my baby come
I will show you the world
Come, come, my baby come
I will cover your nightmares
Come, come, my baby come
I will love you forever
Come, come, my baby come
I will not let you go
My soul, my soul is in Africa, with you boy
Come, come, my baby come
I will show you the world
Come, come, my baby come
I will cover your nightmares
Come, come, my baby come
I will love you forever
Come, come, my baby come
I will not let you go
My soul, is in Africa
with you boy
Looking at the stars
on this diamond sky
giving you my smile
so you can keep it on your mind
floating on your blazing eyes
Come, come, my baby come
I will show you the world
Come, come, my baby come
I will cover your nightmares
Come, come, my baby come
I will love you forever
Come, come, my baby come
I will not let you go
I have no idea what she's saying, but such an infectious groove.
Lyrics are two columns to the left.
Her career mentors sound like mutant ninjas to me... lol
love,
xrds (crossroads)
She's French. Let's hear you sing in a language that's not your native tongue without an accent.
Fair point for her. But it can be done. What "accent" do you hear from First Aid Kit or Abba (Sweden) or Caro Emerald (Netherlands)? Point being it can be done, but I agree with you that it's kind of small to criticize a singer for having an accent when speaking/singing in a language that's not their native tongue.
Born to be a masseuse!
Wouldn't be so bad without that fake African accent meets Manu Chao.
Wikipedia: "Jain was born on 7 February 1992 in Toulouse, France. The Occitan singer travelled the world to follow the professional requirements of her father: She left France at age 9 for Dubai, where she spent three years; then lived for four years in Congo-Brazzaville, which she credits for her taste for danceable melodies; and then spent a year in Abu Dhabi, before moving to Paris where she started a pre-art-school foundation course. These trips influenced her musical style. She also learned how to play drums in Pau, Arabic percussion in the Middle East, and musical programming in Congo."
I think some part of whatever accent she has is probably legit.
Until I read it in a comment recently, I hadn't even realised it is in English. It's just fun
Wait, what? now 10 arms! A dectapus.
Ya, only over 35 million views for the YT video. Really, what were they thinking.

An open mind and wide taste in music is a must if you want to hang around this place, and most here fail at that.
I think a lot, maybe most of the listeners have really wide ranging tastes. That's why RP has grown and done well. Oh, and Bill being able to steer the ship himself without committees to drag him down. And the great software which he has had the vision to create. And the small team that puts it all together. And Rebecca for her part, which I'm not sure that is but I like to hear her voice.
I like this! I have no reason.
....AND you know what? You don't need one. It's just very likeable! Nuf said.
Who'da thunk.
Lovin' it.

She's **Occitan** French, no less.
Her first three music videos are clever and are strung together. Head over to YouTube or VEVO and watch in order:
Come -> Makeba -> Dynabeat
I wish she'd do more of these.
Yes indeed. She is really talented. And dare I say, super pretty!!

"Music is an art form and cultural activity whose medium is sound organized in time. The common elements of music are pitch, rhythm, dynamics, and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture."
Which of these qualities do you feel this song lacks? Or do you perhaps have some unusual definition of "music"?
Well... i have one so simple that you'll never think of other definition! All arts decorate space, only music decorates time! Ta-daaa!!! By summing up all parts of music, you could miss its entirety. Deus ex machina could slip through your fingers and that intracranial wire that holds your ears together from the inside will overheat and snap... stop defining music. Feel it...
It's actually preffy fawkin' awesome, but alas - chances are you'd probably not like it with a real African accent either.
Get that fish out of your ear, boy!
It came with samples of video and audio for a more advanced system (read add on proprietary) that I could upgrade, for a price.
The video for this tune is one of the samples.

The bass line is very fun to listen to here.
Hi Dragon. Serious question: what is your definition of "music"?
it´s upbeat?
good enough reason (for me)
Other than both of them being female and being European there is little resemblance to me. Caro Emerald's music is more 1940s-'50s, "torch" style than this singer's is.
She's French. Let's hear you sing in a language that's not your native tongue without an accent.
... and a Kasparov chess board!
The video was directed ("realisation") by Gregory Ohrel: https://gregoryohrel.com
I'm mildly curious to know what you think her accent should sound like.
If i were flipping through radio stations and heard this, I think I would stop it there.

Love this
What an utterly disqualifying comment...
OK, that video's worth an extra point... 7 > 8+ ,,,,
And extra point for all that in her !

These trips influenced her musical style. She also learned how to play drums in Pau, Arabic percussion in the Middle East, and musical programming in Congo.[1]
Jain began composing demo tracks in Pointe-Noire, Congo-Brazzaville. There she met Mr. Flash, who introduced her to musical programming. She then published her demo tracks on MySpace, where she was noticed by Dready, who became her manager and remains so today. Yodelice also discovered these tracks and invited Jain to meet him in Paris. They began to work together, and Yodelice helped to launch her career.[2]
Jain was a supporting artist for Yodelice's tour.[3] They appeared together on the television show Taratata in 2013 and performed a duet cover of "Redemption Song".[4]"
Too many have way TOO much to say about everylittlething EXCEPT that what MATTERS, which is NOT what they obsess about. RIGHT HERE, on a MUSIC LOVERS site it is even happening, I discovered just in the almost month I have been here. I so thought this was the perfect place to attempt social networking in a safe environment... not so safe :(
@sdwright - welcome to the RP song comment boards! I haven't ventured into the "non-song" forums much (no time for THAT) and I find that, even with the song-trashing-comments that enough of US (like you and carlos65, even if a different age) enjoy LISTENING to the music, esp. when it's something different than we're used to....so I say LONG LIVE RP and PEACE!!!
and....I rate this track a 7, I recognize it and don't want to change it, so it might even move +1 one day....Today (5/9/18) is that day....it's an 8 for me now.

Maybe you "can't call this music", but you don't speak for everyone else. Anyhow, it depends on how you define "music". Apparently your definition is somewhat narrow.
You 'made me look'! Sharing video link because it's so well done! https://www.bing.com/search?q=jain+come&filters=ufn%3a%22jain+come%22+sid%3a%223ea00538-9cec-81c2-878e-a84a4124c0f6%22&autoplay=1&FORM=SNAPST

Because it's "Most Excellent"
Surely the price of hearing what you don't expect to hear is that sometimes it means hearing what you might not want to hear. I thought that's why people listened to RP?
How true. You nailed it!
Catchy tune. I like it.

Now I like the song that much more. Will look into more of her work.

So much for Vishnu the God
Point taken. Hey, Vishnu's the protector of the world and he only has four arms:
Jain would be a helluva bartender, though.

Weel put Jake, just the reason why I listen to RP. As the Stones put it:"you can't always get what you want..."
As for the hard core haters or "just not in the mood for that right now" people, there is a great feature, the little "PSD" or "Play Something Different" button; you should try it sometimes, it helps release the tension.
Personally I can't stand the Talking Heads but still love RP and don't feel the need to comment when I hear 1 song I don't like. Sometimes your favorite granola isn't just available... :)

Be fair. Six arms sure but she's stuck in the floor. That could seriously limit a person.
It appears that the people actually responsible for making that decision disagree.

An open mind and wide taste in music is a must if you want to hang around this place, and most here fail at that.
"Multicultural pop singer Jain was influenced by the many places she has called home. Born in Toulouse, France, with roots in Madagascar, she moved to Dubai at nine and then the Congo during high school, where she began experimenting with music, notably with producer Mr. Flash. After graduation, she returned to Paris for art school. Along the way, she latched onto the music from these areas of her youth — such as French techno, Arabic percussion, and the rhythms of Africa — and combined them into her own style. She released her debut EP, Hope, in 2015. Produced by French singer/songwriter Yodelice, Hope included the singles "Come" and "Makeba," about South African singer and civil rights icon Miriam Makeba. These songs caught the ear of Jaden Smith, which led to radio play on his Beats1 radio show and increased international exposure. Her debut LP, Zanaka, was released at the end of 2015 and was certified gold in France in February 2016. ~ Neil Z. Yeung"
why not?
it's eclectic :D
