I have this weird mental association between this (brilliant) song and the (also brilliant) TV series The Expanse, just because the (also brilliant) actor David Strathairn was in the (really good) film clip for this song as well as playing one of my favourite characters in The Expanse.

I could not agree more. I loved this song before watching it, but the video adds a whole new level of emotion to the lyrics.  It's all I can see in my mind when this song comes on the radio.

Not really - the first phrase has the same progression as "Rise" (I - IV - V - which is used in thousands of songs).  Other than the phrasing of the chords, it is quite different after that.
