I got one of those fake but real-sounding robocalls where you say hello, you hear some clicking then the bot says, "Hello? Can you hear me?" and I wasn't exactly thinking of the scam where they say "can you hear me?" and you say "yes" and they just sold you some steel siding, or whatever. But it says "can you hear me?" and I said "I can." which threw the robot into a loop and it went quiet, reset, click click "Hello? Can you hear me?" "I can." click click "Hello? Can you hear me?" I don't know that the recorded "yes" actually is a way to get sales, I think it's just a way for the bot to confirm your language and move on to the sales pitch. But it was sort of interesting. They say the bots sound really real, and it sort of did... the first few times.

I've seen more Nigerian scam variants than I care to remember, but this one was pretty amusing. Yep, I can believe that Ghaddafi wanted to bequeath his ill-gotten millions to help the poor and underprivileged after his death!
Spelling and grammar are noticeably good, until the very end: "he oppose no treat anymore". Figures that Ghaddafi would oppose treats. Vote for Pie!!
