Perhaps the most dangerous beast on the savannah.....the bastard has an horrible tendency to, if you wound it and don't drop it first shot, double back on itself and come up on you whilst you are tracking it. It's a nasty beastie to take potshots at....I heard of a hunter back in the early days of South Africa who's body was found wedged in a small tree, bled out. Seems he didn't down it first shot, and it doubled back on him whilst he was tracking it, and it charged him. He took to the nearest tree, too small a one to enable him to get clear from it, and it licked through his boots overnight and through the skin and flesh of his feet and...he bled out.
It was a story, dunno if true, but nobody would yell 'impossible! Show me the evidence!'......everyone just goes 'yep, buffalo are nasty beasts' and opens another bottle of brandy.....
