I think I found a writeup at GHacks about the feature. I remember noticing when RP started supporting the media session API. This is a neat bonus.

I don't see any popup when I use my keyboard or bluetooth media controls (but they do control the stream).

That's a tool I didn't know I needed until just now. I load up the RP player, then hide it so I don't accidentally close it because I'm stupid that way. But if I want to skip a track well yeah I can use the keyboard but if I want to see what's playing well yeah I can hover over the hidden window icon so yeah I guess I don't actually need this.

But Imma use it a lot anyway.

This is a chrome thing.   They've just improved upon their existing media session features that we  started supporting recently.

Can see something similar  popup  when you  use  media controls on the keyboard.

Chrome just updated to v79.0.3945.117 and popped up a little icon next to my address bar, three stacked lines next to a music note (kind of like this: â‰¡â™ª). Clicking it gives a little RP  player control. It's pretty neat.

Is this a new feature of RP, a new feature of Chrome, or something else? There doesn't seem to be anything on the Chrome v79 features that sounds related.
