This should be no surprise, among strangest books ever written.

Both The Magus & The Collector are completely different with brilliant stories. The very first 8 pages of  A Maggot were great read, later the rest wasn't too keen to have me keep reading it further...

I will post one that Lily reminded me of the other day:

The Magus by John Fowles- probably best read for the first time before the age of 25.  The other one of his that is similar is The Collector.

The Collector is on my to-read list. :)

I read a lot - some books get pretty strange.

I'm loath to go into any real detail because it might impact free interpretation and presentation.

I will, however, offer up two examples of favorite strange books which are rather different.

Katherine Dunn - Geek Love

If you haven't read it - hmmm, don't even know what to say here.

and

Yerzi (Jerzy) Kazinski - The Painted Bird

I am quite taken by thispainting - I read the book about 20 years ago, and this brings up some long forgotten psychoemotional and psychoneuroimmulogical response.  Yep, what a strange powerful book that was!
