(3:02:37â¯PM) William: saying I would be given a credit plus 20% for the value of the tickets
(3:03:18â¯PM) Support: Oh, I see, thanks for that
...
(3:04:29â¯PM) William: Make it a credit for 346.00 (the current cost of the same tickets) and you got a deal
(3:06:43â¯PM) Support: I can see that your tickets for Mumford & Sons with Sierra Ferrell <https://seatgeek.com/mumford-sons-tickets/bozeman-montana-bobcat-stadium-mt-2026-06-04-7-pm/concert/18084977>, 6/4/2026 at 7:00pm MDT were not delivered. As a refund, I can confirm that a 100% cash refund + 20% promo code for your next purchase has been approved
(3:07:38â¯PM) William: If you make it +30% it will be perfect; I can buy the same tickets
(3:08:34â¯PM) Support: I understand. Allow me a minute to check if a 30% promo code refund is possible
(3:09:48â¯PM) William: Because otherwise this is an illegal bait and switch.
(3:13:04â¯PM) Support: Thank you for waiting
(3:15:09â¯PM) William: Thank you for doing your best
(3:15:24â¯PM) Support: We have checked your request, and a 30% promo code won't be possible; however, keep in mind that $266.16 will be refunded to the original payment method, + 20% promo code ($53.23) will be available in your account, and you can use it in your next purchase

(3:17:44â¯PM) William: Doors open in one hour and thirteen minutes.
(3:20:08â¯PM) Support: I completely understand that your tickets were not delivered on time. ... promo code; however, we are unable to guarantee that it will be available today
(3:22:10â¯PM) Support: I know this is not the news you are expecting to hear, but I'm grateful for your understanding
(3:22:32â¯PM) William: WHAT
(3:22:42â¯PM) William: i do NOT UNDERSTAND

(3:23:52â¯PM) William: The fan has ended the chat session and will no longer see new messages. Please finish the ticket by either solving it or switching to email if follow-up is still needed.
So anyway I got some seated tickets just behind the pit for $75 less total than the front row tickets. *shrug* Why does everything have to bee so hard?
So I think I'll have some whiskey and go light 'em up on Reddit for the bait & switch portion of the program.
NB I was going to go see Rev. Horton Heat tonight but I'm dogsitting so

so, scalpers hold tickets to the day of show, to deal with scalperscompetition?
guessing it is the venue or act that delays the ticket release date to min scalping...only one scalp per ticket, ha.
This has happened to me many times.

yeah the idea is that the seller on SeatGeek is someone who bought tickets but can't go. What this seems to be is the ticket company having an arrangement with the promoter and venue etc that if the show isn't selling out quickly, they'll put them on seatgeek at a discount and leave the venue's prices alone. Or it's a way to introduce dynamic pricing (institutionalized scalping) while leaving the venue pricing constant: some of the posh seats are on seatgeek for more than face value but the GA floor tickets are about 20% under face value.
Edit: They're going to see Mumford & Sons + Sierra Farrell in Bozone
So it's not Ticketbastard, now it's PACIOLAN. I bought some tickets via SeatGeek (official partner of Paciolan so not sketchy) for AFW & JFW. The concert's tonight and they still haven't released the tickets. I'm sure it's because they don't want me to be able to turn around and scalp them so they hold them until the last minute. But they don't make it clear that that's what's going on so all I know is I'm out $$$ and have no tickets still.
I spent way more time than I should have trying to figure out what band AFW & JFW was, off to get a second cup of coffee now.
Sorry. Every time I see this thread I spiral into a white-hot rage and focus on one thing.

Yeah, and artists wonder why ticket sales are down.

It's not just the elevated resale prices, but also fees they collect from both the buyer and seller of resale tickets. Collect fees 3x on the same ticket.
I'm not even sure you can go to a box office and bypass these bastards anymore. I tried it for a rockies game last year and the box office still charged me fees.
Ticketbastards are nothing more than legalized, industrial-scale scalping. There is nothing right about it.

The federal government has announced it will ban dynamic pricing, a controversial tactic which drives prices up when demand increases, following a Four Corners' investigation.
It's also committed to outlawing hidden fees in concert tickets and drip pricing where extra costs are "added throughout the stages of a purchase".
Four Corners revealed that Live Nation's ticketing arm Ticketmaster and its competitor Ticketek are charging music fans hidden fees for concert tickets that are included within the overall cost price.
Live Nation has also used "dynamic pricing" in Australia â most recently for Green Day's tour, where some fans paid up to $500 for a ticket â and has flagged plans to expand its use of the practice.
Australian artists told Four Corners those extra fees are not trickling down to them, as many musicians struggle to make a living from live touring.
