Maher is particularly observant. He is well read and loves to antagonize the status quo on either side. He's sliding into the grumpy ol man stage, but otherwise, he offers provocative thinking with desperately needed humor.
So was George Carlin, total Grumpy old man near the end. Not to put Maher in Carlin's class, that's one that's hard to ascend to.
Comedians are hyper-observant and smart. Things are only funny because there is at least some truth to them.
If people are unaware of their own decision-making and lack the critical thinking required to evaluate options and understand how that affects both themselves and others, isn't that the definition of stupid?

Implement mindfulness? Isn't that the point of going to school? If that doesn't exist in today's curriculum.... isn't the lack of attention, understanding, and awareness delivering less intelligent (dare I say stupid) people?

A restructuring of our school systems seems in order (and I'm not talking about new math...)
We are society where the $ rules, but few can even figure how to budget their cash flow.
Just read a story in Wall St Journal where 1 out of 3 who make over $250k are essentially living paycheck to paycheck.
People aren't as stupid as they are unconscious (of their decision making and what drives them).
I wonder what the masses would think if schools implemented "mindfullness" programs at each education level.
