That's my answer to your question, PJ, and the following is not directed at you in any way shape or form.
If you want to hate anyone's political or other worldviews, hate them. If you want to make it personal, I submit that it's a pretty fucked up thing to do. It equates to "because this person believes in something I vehemently disagree with, this person is a flaming asshole". Prejudice of the worst kind. Hate the game, but the playa hating is bullshit.
If this puts me on 10, 50, 100 people's shitlist, I really don't give a rat's ass. I've long ago given up any hope that things will change for the better around here, that's why I'm not around that much. I know who my friends are and so do they, and we stay in touch one way or the other.

Aw heck since everyone else is piliing on, I will add another article to the fray:
OTTAWA, Kan. - A freshman Kansas congresswoman said Thursday that her remark about fellow Republicans seeking a "great white hope" was not a reference to someone who could challenge President Barack Obama or his political agenda.
Rep. Lynn Jenkins said she was instead making a comment about GOP leaders in the House and was trying to reassure Republicans that the party has bright leaders there. She used the phrase during an Aug. 19 forum in Hiawatha and someone in the crowd recorded it and gave the video to the Kansas Democratic Party. Both she and an aide apologized Thursday if the comment offended anyone. But when she was asked about the remark after a town hall meeting in Ottawa, Jenkins also suggested it had been taken out of context.
There is a lot more to the article, but you get the gist.

Rammell, a former elk rancher slated to run against incumbent C.L. "Butch" Otter in the May 2010 GOP primary, made the comment at a Republican rally Tuesday in Twin Falls. Talk at the meeting turned to the state's planned wolf hunt, for which hunters must purchase an $11.50 wolf tag. When an audience member shouted a question about "Obama tags," Rammell responded, "The Obama tags? We'd buy some of those." Rammell told the Times-News newspaper the comment was "just a joke." He said, "I would never support him being assassinated." It was reported that Larry Craig was overheard saying he'd like to 'tag' Obama himself.

That does not mean, however, that there are not those who consistently toe the party line and steadfastly refuse to acknowledge a countering viewpoint Thankfully, they are in the minority, albeit sometimes quite vocal. Perhaps, though, we do have to throw the baby out with the bath water. That would be unfortunate, and, as you have pointed out, it may be unavoidable at this point.

The prevalence of the liberal viewpoint has sadly alienated many conservatives from RP. The love of music is universal and it draws people from every political stance. Some days, I'm still tempted to wash my hands of the place, a la nook. What's worse than the community suffering from the dearth of a conservative voice is that B&R's efforts suffer from the loss of support, both financially and socially spreading the word.
Never assume that everyone anyone here agrees with your opinion. I certainly don't.
