I looked at the settings for may software...looks like bit rate is selectable when saving to the hard drive, but can only be reduced or left alone when making discs. Now I know!

I think the rule is audio-CD aiff. Fiteen sonz iz all you getz. edit: and when I make mine, it's going to be aiff'd from my ripped stuff. Way too lazy to go back to the source disks. Sorry.

You could poll your recipients to learn if their car players play MP3 CDs (many newer models and replacement decks do). But then that'd ruin the SOO-prise for your peeps, if that's something you're wanting to keep secret.
