Typical of Chicago/Cook County, I got passed around and never found the right department to talk to. I can't see in her yard, everyone has big fences. I hate to pound on someone's door and make an accusation, especially because they are not nice people to begin with. It really saddens me, because I enjoy the squirrels in my yard.
it's simply just mean and wrong. i hope you can find someone to talk to about it so it stops. it's rotten, plain and simple. i'm sorry.
If she is racist, I am sure she is speciesist too.
Kidding aside, poisoning squirrels is a serious offense. Whatever the squirrels are getting can also be gotten by kids, birds, and pets. There aren't many poisons that are labelled for squirrel control, and they all require special licensing to acquire and handle. So if they're being poisoned, it's probably through an over-the-counter rodenticide, and there are plenty of those. But they aren't formulated for squirrels, so the recommended dosage has to be changed, and most likely raised.
If you really think she is doing this, see if the squirrels are feeding from something in her yard. Next time you find a fresh carcass, collect it (wear gloves!) and see if a local pet rescue or similar organisation will test it for you. The city might do this too if there are strong indications of poison.
It's really unusual to have a spate of squirrel deaths aside from disease or climate.

Yeah, and how often do you see a dead squirrel unless it's been hit by a car? I never have.
this one time, at church camp, i was sitting under a very tall tree and a rustling was happening way up. and a very stiffly dead bird fell out almost onto my head.
This is serious...I have found 5 dead squirrels within a 5 house vicinity the last couple weeks, including one who is lying almost dead by the side of my house right now.
These squirrels are my friends, I have been feeding them lots and lots of peanuts since spring, and they come onto my deck and look into the window to see if I am home.
My next door neighbor once expressed to me how much she hates squirrels and she is a mean old racist bitch. I am really concerned that either my peanuts are killing them, or she is poisoning them because they run across her fence.
What do I do? I guess I will stop feeding them and see what happens. Sonofabitch!

It's entirely possible she is poisoning them. I'm betting rat poison.
If peanuts could kill squirrels, they would be nearly extinct. They go crazy for 'em.

I seriously doubt your peanuts are killing them and that it is indeed your neighbor. Call the authorities asap so they can collect the dead squirrel before it's gone.
