I grew up in Chocago and the burbs and left in the mid 70's and I don't miss it a bit and have desire to live in the area ever again.

We lived right off of 88, right at the Aurora/Naperville border. The new DC is off the same exit, it was really weird going through the area 22 years later.

I don't want to live anywhere that the transition from heating to cooling or the inverse happens in one day.

I lived in Naperville for a bit in the 90's and have just become affiliated with a data center that is really just about a mile from where I lived before - weird. The weather isn't that bad, but summer and winter are extreme. And yeah, sprawl. But you can go visit Fermi Lab for fun, and Chicago is pretty cool.
So you think blasting atoms into even smaller bits is fun?? I suppose you think everyone has the right to carry cyclotrons into KFC.

Meh, it's like 3 miles from P's sister and we'd be retired. I could tolerate traffic.
