Ah. Right you are. I'm traveling today & have to jump through a couple of hoops to get into the server. I'll have it back up as soon as I can.

Like I said - very much a beta situation.

Looks like it will be down for a while. Sorry about that.

Yesterday afternoon (PDT), the FLAC stream was stuttering so I switched back to the ACC/LC stream which worked flawlessly.   The FLAC stream  http://audio-3.radioparadise.c...      seems to work just fine this morning.

EDIT:  Spoke too soon.  the flac stream is speeding up and stuttering.  Windows 10 v. 1809 , foobar2000 v1.3.1., ISP 120 Mbps download speed limit (i.e., plenty of bandwidth).  Now it is well ahead of the AAC-320 stream.

At this moment it seems to have stabilized while playing Greg Brown - No Place Away at ~9:40 AM PDT.

Curious.  I opened up another RP tab in the Opera browser, clicked on Listener Forum and the stream started once again to speed up and stutter.  Could be something on my end.

Seems like the FLAC stream gets ahead of the AAC/LC stream.

Am now listening to Porcupine Tree's Sentimental for the second time.   Which is not all bad.  :-)

Hit play again and all's good in the world!

I've reset the stream twice this morning. VLC handles that with just a short glitch, but perhaps Clementine needs a bit more encouragement.

That's not something that will be happening once the FLAC stream is officially launched.

Apparently, Sonos does not support FLAC streaming at this point. Actually, I suspect that it's TuneIn that's the problem. Custom station URLs are played via TuneIn, not directly by the Sonos player.

I have contacted Sonos at least a half-dozen times about partnering with us to add RP as one of the available music services. That would bypass the TuneIn issue, and would let us add our alternate channels and the skip function also. Frustratingly, they've never even bothered to respond.

Feel free to pass the above quote along to Sonos tech support. You won't be the first, but maybe someday they'll be willing to work with us.

When it is down, it is down but otherwise it seems to work quite well and is very stable.  Been playing continuously with no drop outs for the last couple of hours (Win10, foobar2000).

NOTES:

1. There is no metadata (song titles). It appears that we just can't do that. You can use our web player in 'track' mode to see what's playing.

2. This is subject to outages and glitches as we refine our setup.

If you tried this earlier today and it was down, try again.

Geeksplain: we had a net outage here at RP central and I had neglected to 'nohup' one of the processes.

Thanks Bill ... great news!  I'll be running this stream via two platforms :
1. Windows10 running Foobar2000
2. Ubuntu Linux running Clementine.

Currently listening to the stream on the latter and sounding extremely lush!  Will report back with any observations.

Thanks!  Nick

Plopped the FLAC stream URL into foobar2000.   Sounds good.

Incidentally, the FLAC stream in a FireFox RP web-player drops out every now and then.  That is rectified by bringing up settings and either clicking on FLAC again or temporarily moving to Ultra MP3 and then moving back to the FLAC stream.   The slide shows continues while the stream drops out.

Is there a plan to bring FLAC streaming out so I can play it through my LINN DSM? I currently play the 320kb streams which while fine, all my music on the LINN Kazoo player are FLAC and the sound difference is important.

I use a Mac Mini as the audio server and perhaps, will have to find a way to do a DLNA routing to feed the LINN via Ethernet.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We have a solution for that in the testing stages. Hopefully available soon.
