I just wanted to start another forum with "ass" in it. Actually, I have one. A dumbass question, not an ass (though I have one of those too). When I use IE (I know, I know) and click in the scroll bar in the window, I find myself two pages down instead of one, as though I clicked twice. Similarly for the arrow, it's like I clicked on it twice. I only see this phenomenon (bee dooooo bee doobee) in Explorer. Paging works fine on other windows, so it doesn't seem to be a mouse related thing. It wasn't always like this, but I don't know what might have happened to cause it. Any clues?

I worked as night supervisor for the fledling Riyadh public transit system 79-81.  One night I got a call and had to go to the scene of an accident at a circle.  A sewage truck had overturned while trying to navigate a circle and one of our buses had slid in the "spill" hitting a lamp post.  Took pictures, called a tow and left ASAP.  Phew.

Also when I was there they would have a "safety week" every 6 months.  They "celebrated" by decorating all the circles by cars totaled in accidents on the side walks of the circles.  First time I saw it I thought "WTF is going on all these people in accidents"

{#Lol}

I do remember now that I used to see cops walk over to the boxes and smack them as hard as they could with their nightsticks when they got stuck and quit cycling.

A great stress reliever.

both have co-existed for years.
personally, I like jughandles but can live without the circles.
but a lot of the new intersections are being replaced with a circle/cloverleaf hybrid. which is just a uppity jughandle.

I remember when we visited Jersey, and how fascinated I was with the jug handles.

i have a very strong memory of being scared Sh*tless in the car with my mom at a circle near our house.... she was in the middle of it, stopped, waiting for traffic people whizzing by her.

wow.  that's pretty stupid.  down here they're yield signs.  the difficulty is that people have never seen this sort of thing before and it apparently boggles their narrow minds and quite a few of them DO stop.  they also fail to use turn signals, but that's nothing new.

Around here, they all have stop signs requiring a complete stop before entering.

Hell, no one here knows how to make a boulevard turn.  Everyone goes past the turning vehicle and turns behind each other, not in front of each other.

Talk about things that piss me off, not that anyone asked.

Traffic circles without stop signs in areas where the average age is 70 something and barely able to see ?

I sell glasses to these people.  {#Stop}
