Edit: And I am not speaking out of bitterness. I have all of those other traits except for the power and the money, I have never had much ambition and preferred to spend my time in the weight room rather than work on my career!

I don't get you people. I've known several manly men who fit these traits in these relationships. What is so negative or impossible about them ??? Is it unmanly to be compassionate? Or to laugh at one's self in an argument? Or have inner lives of their own (which could be manly things like auto racing or photography or baseball?).

Anyway....I just put that out there because they are great food for thought and consideration.

As for the unemployment thing, it's really for the better. I got a (pitiful) severance and I'm able to collect unemployment. Thankfully I have the emotional and financial support of someone, which gives me the time to find something I want to be doing instead of something I have to be doing. He wants me to have a job I enjoy going to on most days instead of filled with the stress I had with the last job.
