Since we're tearing down statues and cleansing the country side of Civil War memorials because they are racist, the KKK and all, even though the KKK was formed by the Democratic Party after the Civil War, we need to immediately remove Senator Robert Byrd's name from all buildings, bridges, roads, anything visible by the public because he was a KKK Grand Wizard. There are other names that need to disappear as well including another famous segregationist Senator William Fulbright
The Bellamy salute is a palm-up salute described by Francis Bellamy, the author of the American Pledge of Allegiance, as the gesture which was to accompany the pledge. During the period when it was used with the Pledge of Allegiance, it was sometimes known as the "flag salute". Both the Pledge and its salute originated in 1892. Later, during the 1920s and 1930s, Italian fascists and Nazis adopted a salute which was very similar, and which was derived from the Roman salute, a gesture that was popularly (albeit erroneously) believed to have been used in ancient Rome. This resulted in controversy over the use of the Bellamy salute in the United States. It was officially replaced by the hand-over-heart salute when Congress amended the Flag Code on December 22, 1942.

If this was but one misstep on Trump's part I'd be willing to say that he was simply misguided and accept that he just didn't know what he was doing at the time. The problem is that Trump's resume to-date is overflowing with lies and missteps and he's perennially misguided on just about everything he says and does. To little too late? Does that even need to be asked? Without a doubt!
I hold the position of president to a high standard... one that it appears that our Apprentice President Trump (regardless of how much time he gets under his belt) has no hope of ever coming close to meeting.
I'm tired of this do-nothing train-wreck called Trump. I'm tired of other nations laughing at us and losing credibility with other world leaders. I can't wait for the GOP to finally turn on him and someone with credentials and enough balls (McCain?) steps up to truly get the impeachment ball rolling. Enough is enough.
Trump has repeatedly taken a long time to disavow words and actions from the alt-right and white nationalists, even when they have openly supported Trump. He's also called for use of violence to keep in line groups that he views as dangerous or undesirable; there was for instance the recent wish that the police would rough up people under arrest. Trump openly admires Putin and President Duterte of the Philippines who have murdered their own citizens for opposing them (or in Détente's case, just for possibly using drugs).
I'd agree that on many policy positions, Trump is "perennially misguided": he tends to have an outdated view of the world (eg immigration into the US, China as a currency manipulator) that drive him to push policies that no longer address modern reality. But his advocacy of violence and intolerance in the form of whites' feelings of righteous victimhood is no mistake or misstep.
Trump came to power because he appealed to enough voters who felt that the federal government was no longer serving their needs and that minorities were taking over American culture. He has endorsed violence and confrontation for a long time, whether in calls for someone to throw out protesters at his rallies, lock up Hillary Clinton, drain the DC swamp, etc.
Trump's initial statement on the violence in Charlottesville was the real Trump. The second statement was just Douchebag Don bowing to public pressure.

As John Oliver noted "It is doesn't get any easier than disavowing Nazis".
So Trump has finally spoken and named the groups that y'all wanted to hear him say out loud.
Happy ? Of course not. Its now too little too late. Right ?

Yes, happy now. It is late, and if this is it, it will be too little. There needs to be a strong stance against Nazis and other racist fuckwits. I hope the backlash that compelled him to make a statement today is strong enough to change his course and commit him to his words.
Also, "All violence is bad" is a super easy thing to say. This week it has become a stand in for "I have black friends" as well.
