The opening paragraph will stand as a perfect description of the Trump White House years, especially for those looking back and wondering WTF.

“ On Monday, in a moment combining the aspiring authoritarianism and chaotic bumbling that has defined the Trump presidency, federal law enforcement officials forcibly removed a group of peaceful protesters from a park near the White House so President Trump could stand in front of a church and brandish a Bible.”

A bumbling authoritarian? Yes indeed. That is not only apt but damn funny. Tragicomedy, I guess.

And now for something completely different!

If it follows the usual pattern, Trump will blast these reports as Fake News and Esper will be pushed out a few months later. Be interesting to see if the timing will be pushed back until after the election.

It wasn’t removed from people’s minds. If it’s true that, with the rioting, he called Putin and Zuckerberg, it looks so bad that he must value the “relationship” with them.

And, there’s still every reason to believe that Russia would meddle in our elections, overtly and covertly. To think they wouldn’t/didn’t/won’t seems naive.

We do have to get along with Russia, like it or not.  But absolutely, they will do and are doing everything they can to mess us up.  Everyone does to everyone else.  Been going on forever, and that is a long time. ;)  I don't know how they could influence me.  I don't do social media, other than here.

Zuckerberg is currently trying to keep his own ass out of a sling with Trump over the twitter thing.

I understand this is rather common.  And both sides do it.  Hey, if the rules & laws allow it, go for it.  Creative participation.

I am not registered with a political party and will vote in democrat primaries if I want to for the same reason and have many times.  Depends on what is going on at the time.

Nope, not in reality. That link to the PBS special takes 1/2hr and says it used to be real but now it's just a philosophy.

I'll give it a listen.  Maybe I have heard of it, but so long ago I had forgotten.

OK, now we all need to make sure we're registered to vote and then actually vote.

And - watch this - I think we should register Republican so we can steer the party in a different direction. Having been a Green since Day 1, I'm excluded at times when it's a closed primary. But imagine if I could get in there and pick someone reasonable from their list? It could make a big difference.
