So you are saying that private prisons have paid local Black political leaders to not sign the ordinance? Or that Black political leaders are shareholders in these private prison companies? That does not make any sense to me. My weak guess is that most Black American voters â the ones that actually vote and thus matter â are a lot more conservative than most of us outsiders realize and they are worried that the citations will contribute to higher delinquency and crime rates as well poorer educational results. Like I said: weak guess.

Trump reverses Obama-era rule designed to prevent racial bias by car dealersPresident Donald Trump has signed legislation rolling back auto-lending guidance designed to protect minorities from discrimination by car dealers. Congress voted last month to overturn guidance from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) that targeted “dealer markups” – interest rate hikes that auto dealers place on third-party auto loans to make a profit. Mr Trump signed the bill into law on Monday in a private session. Studies have shown minorities are regularly charged more for dealer markups than white buyers with similar credit. The CFPB warned dealers in 2013 against using these markups, saying they could lead to a lawsuit from the agency. Since then, the bureau has penalised major companies like Honda, Toyota, and Ally Financial for lending discrimination. (...)
(...) In fact, a recent study by the National Fair Housing Alliance (NHFA) — entitled, "Discrimination When Buying a Car: How the Color of Your Skin Can Affect Your Car-Shopping Experience" — sent out non-white and white testers with fake credentials to auto dealerships. All the white testers' credentials showed they had less income and were less eligible than the non-white testers for dealership car loans. The results were staggering: 62.5 percent of the time, non-white testers who were more qualified than their white counterparts received more costly pricing options. On average, non-white testers who experienced discrimination would have paid an average of $2,662.56 more over the life of the loan than less-qualified white testers. 75 percent of the time, white testers were offered more financing options than non-white testers. Dealers offered to help bring down interest rates and car prices using incentives and rebates or by making phone calls to personal contacts for white testers more often than they did for non-white testers.
A nationwide study by the National Consumer Law Center found similar results: In Wisconsin, black Ford Motor Credit Company borrowers paid an average $1,041 markup, whereas white buyers paid $156. In Alabama, black General Motors Acceptance Corporation borrowers paid markups that averaged $836, but the markup for white buyers was only $276. We found statistically significant racial disparities in every state with sufficient data and in every region of the country. However, Mick Mulvaney — head of both the Office of Management and Budget and acting chief of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau — heralded the discriminatory measure. He said that he was "heartened that the people, through their elected representatives, have corrected this instance of Bureau overreach." In the Trump administration, preventing discrimination if it interferes with corporate profit is deemed undesirable. (...) Code/buzz word: overreach

Which is all the more troubling: why would she want to keep such an eyesore intact? The guy is planning to fix it up!
She insisted it's not about race, but if Chip and Joanna were doing the same thing, she probably wouldn't have reacted that way.

Though the plot thickens, seems the woman is Spanish with a black boyfriend and was upset he was taking down the boards off the windows because it had been used as a crack house. The media did report this after it was too late, but we gotta do better all around. "Journalist" are constantly fighting for their jobs and that is tough to combat. Let's face it racism is sexy as hell and exciting for us all when revealed and reported. There is more than an element of superiority when the bigots are highlighted and properly berated, cause there is the proof of how much better we are than them.
Cynicism? I haz it. lol Seriously there is more than a bit of truth in this.
