All songs by Penny & Sparrow! I wish RP would play their stuff. Eloise, Creature, Reeth, Brothers, Cult Classically, and so on.
There's a system for suggesting songs to RP but I haven't heard whether anyone's had any success with it. In years. But you should put up some youtubes here anyway...
Man, do I love this album. It will always be my Fall Traveling Through the PNW album, since it was the soundtrack to some good times driving along in the fog and rain...
not necessarily a fog and rain guy, but this is a great groove is any atmospheric condition
The studio stuff is good, but the live cuts have way more energy. c.
What did you find? Youtube?
'Live at Montreaux 1980' is the CD I bought. I signed up for Amazon music and listened to the studio versions - better audio, but live just kicks it. c.
File under: Stories I'm sure I told before...
I saw Billy Bremner in a tiny pay-to-play club in Hollywood, back when his band was backing Rosie Flores. She wasn't touring, so the Billy Bremner Band was singing for their supper. Most of the people in the bar didn't know or care who was playing, beers were cheap and it was a cold rainy Tuesday night anyway, so the "crowd" was just neighborhood folx. But the drummer was from New Orleans, and it happened to be Mardi Gras. So the drummer was teaching all his favorite songs to Billy and the band and the bar and it might have been sloppy at first but the more we drank the better they got and... yeah.

He caught such crap for being maudlin and silly and popular. Even had his TV show and that stupid cricket noise. But, musically, those were better times than now.

Just listen to how Richard arranges those vocals, especially at the end. He was like Harrison being overshadowed by McCartney/Lennon. Great in his own way but he had that sister.
