Seriously, how many of these price scares are there going to be?  There was coffee a few months ago, pork, hazelnuts...I'm sure there are more.  Bah.

I think there also a bacon shortage scare a few weeks ago and warnings of astronomical price increasess.  It's still roughly the same price around here.  Now, if there were warnings about a Marmite shortage...

Actually, I like hoppy beers, I just wish most of these outfits would make something else.  It seems like this 'ultra-hopping' can sometimes be a way to cover up what can otherwise be some pretty lousy-tasting brews - like adding sriracha to every conceivable food.

Hoppy beers I'd equate with coconut. Right now, it's a popular flavor and that may fade, but it isn't like Almond Joys are going away.

True, many of the breweries may fade away, or get 'acquired', and Almond Joy is a pretty good candy bar.

He's actually lamenting the enduring craze for super-hopped beers.

Unfortunately for him, the hop shortage peaked a few years ago, prompting many brewers to create a market for locally sourced hops, either by growing their own, or in the case of Red Lodge Ales, actually giving hop rhizomes to people willing to plant some in their yard, which they could then sell back to the brewer...

So hoppy beers will never die!

This shows 20 in Wyoming, plus I know there are 2 in Cody not on the list, one under construction in Powell. Keeping mind the old philosopher's rule that 90% of everything is crap, that leaves us with a few good choices. I would also add Grand Teton Brewing to the Wyoming list because they started here but had to creep across the Idaho line because of the laws here (which have been improved, obviously).

I count 44 craft breweries with 9 more under construction in a state with fewer than a million people. Is there a ratio that high anywhere else in the world?

In the days before photoshop you had to find truly fine (and photogenic) actors.

Budweiser itself should be terminated with "extreme prejudice". Oh, and don't forget to add Bud-Lite. The king of poseur beers.  Well, I guess it shares that distinction with Coors Lite.

They just retouched photos by hand (or airbrush) back then; I did it for a little while in the early '80s.  I guess Bud has its place - just not in my refrigerator, and light beer, of any sort, is also out of the question - except in an emergency
