Sort of, for licensing issues, tracks played need to be logged. So that info can be made available in the website to follow the state of other players linked to your account or sharing the same ip address. kbs wrote: yobyot wrote: jarro wrote:The Sonos or any device tracking should show while it's playing. The channel tracking is for the standard non skippable streams like on TuneIn yobyot wrote:I listen to RP using the Sonos RP connection. But if I track an RP stream (any genre) in the browser, the metadata doesn't match what I am hearing. Of course, I can play the TuneIn streams or add a link to Sonos and then the website metadata and the audio match.
So, I am confused. When does the "Sonos" selection appear on the website to track what Sonos is playing? If I switch genres in the RP Sonos app, does the tracking switch as well?
Thanks.
Thanks! RP is not only technically advanced, it has by far the best-sounding streams on the 'Net. I'm impressed by this - the Sonos tracking appears when a SONOS device somewhere on my LAN is playing RP. It does not appear otherwise. I'm trying to get my head round how this works - I guess the browser is checking on SONOS traffic on the LAN? It therefore possibly decodes the traffic to ensure that the track playing is the one shown? Previously it was a little hit and miss, but seems pretty damn good now.

I listen to RP using the Sonos RP connection. Sometimes — and I'm not sure when it is — if I am on the website and hit "track," Sonos is an option. When I select it, the RP rich tracking info matches what I am hearing. But if I track an RP stream (any genre) in the browser, the metadata doesn't match what I am hearing.
