Well, now give me my pistol, man
And three round balls
I'm gonna shoot everybody
That I don't like at all
Like at all, like at all
Like at all, like at all

Gotta .38 special, man and .45 frame
You know the thing don't miss
'Cause I got dead aim
Got dead aim, got dead aim
Got dead aim, got dead aim

Well, the world is a drag
And my friends can't vote
Gonna make me a connection
And score some dope
Go, get high, go, get high
Go, get high, go, get high

That's a coincidence, I had a used 1969 Buick Special as my first car back in the late 70's, and as you say, those things were built like tanks. No fear of getting into an accident, lol.

Then you're a youngster, Hot f***in' Tuna has been around as long as Little Feat. Both brilliant bands and musicians.

Is this the convicted felon drug addict member of the NRA theme song?
Always a pleasure to hear. Thanks William!

It's been said before but worth repeating...this is my favorite album. I have it on LP, 8-track, cassette, CD, .mp3 just so I'm never without. I've seen the boys in concert 56 times from coast to coast and places in between since the 70's. Can't wait for the next time. Fellow Tuna concert veterans of a certain age will recall their five hour long shows leading into the wee hours of the morning that left you with a sonic concussion when the show finally ended. I left my hearing at the Capital Theater in Passaic forty some odd years ago. Or was it at the Ritz in NYC? The Warner in D.C.? The Great American Music Hall in S.F.?
*(disclaimer) I must confess that the Allman Bros. Fillmore East album shares that all time favorite album spot in my life. I have that album on multiple mediums as well. Saw Muddy Waters open for the Bros. at Jersey City's Roosevelt Stadium back in the day.

Very nice. Some people live this and some don't .

Some people get this and some don't.

But most important, is that this gets stated.
Looking forward to seeing and hearing Jorma in Feb on Cayamo!

Hot Tuna Burgers. A place in town used to make the best.

Ooooh Bill, you know what I like! Give me some Hot Tuna Burgers anytime! Thank you so much!!!
If I had a penny given to me for every 100th time I've listened to this album I'd be a trillionaire.

There may be a reason for that...

However, wiki says it was written by Julius Daniels. He first recorded it in 1927.

At the risk of sending listeners somewhere else... The Hot Tuna boys have put a massive number (probably > 200) of live shows on Spotify.  You might even find one that you were at.

Personally I'm almost ashamed to say that I've never seen them live and am starting to worry that I might never get the chance.
So I get up outta bed and fire up RP and lo and behold we start off with this. Exquisite! Thanks Bill!
1972 and all the college smorgasbord options in Boston.  Turn it up

Great play set, Bill! Taj Mahal to Hot Tuna — Thanks!
What a smoking great album. It left a serious imprint on my tender young ears. I've still got the original vinyl. Well, ok, it was my brother's vinyl. {#Whistle}

My favorite album.

Wow. That's pretty amazing. Good taste. :-)

Just made my day. Given Paul Kantner's recent passing... I've been reminded of how he and Jorma Kaukonen got together with this infamous Papa John Creach and put out some crazy, great new music, unlike anything out there. Maybe Ry Cooder... but their patented Jefferson Airplane guitar recipe mixed with that old dude's hot fiddle made a whole new thing out of psychedelia and blues. What a treat to hear you guys actually play this pretty much unheard of music. And RIP P.K.

My favorite album.
Oh Yes, it's gonna be a Good Day!  : )
I LOVE hearing this after Taj Mahal; definitely the same countrified boogie vibe, with soul-satisfying rhythms! Thanks, RP for feeling it!

I liked it.
Jorma can make a guitar sing like few others in history.  Truly an under played master!
I'm so old I bought this album when it originally issued on vinyl.  Never heard them do anything less than terrific.  Really exemplary musicians for all the Original Acid-Rock connections.
..i hear some funk in Dixie-land..precursor?..

well, hell yeah!
I was just a kid, but I sure do remember the older brothers of friends and fellow Boy Scouts who often hung out or studied with this (and Jimi & Janice & Doors of course) in the background...and I thought it was just fine!  When I asked "hey, who's that playing?" you can bet the name sure stuck in my mind, too...
Yes!  Thank you for playing this Bill!  {#Cowboy}

MUNGO JERRY?  Hahahahaha!

Hot Tuna and NRBQ (New Rhythm and Blues Quartet) were some of my first exposures to "hillbilly blues" or "redneck rock" (or whatever you want to call it) and a lifetime of pleasurable listening.  Of course, I liked Mungo Jerry, too.
yuck

Burgers has some of the best Jorma tunes ever done imho.  Listening to Mississippi John Hurt, I began thinking about the similarities to Kaukonen — and here he is! A little bummed that the overall rating is only 6.4 at this time.

Good question. Some days I really wish I hadn't tatooed that bandana across my forehead though.
LOVE me some Hot Tuna. Back in my serious guitar playing days, I set about learning a huge portion of the Hot Tuna repertoire. I never sounded as good as Jorma but it sure was rewarding to play those pieces.
