Whatever it takes you to believe it
That's all right with me
Take this morning in my kitchen
Or whatever that helps you to believe
You will find me down by the river
Getting high on my mortality
I'll be holding hands with nameless beauty
Or whoever wants to stand next to me

All eyes on me
I'm going to the moon
Time heals what you can't see
Heads back
I'm leaving soon leaving soon

You can take it easy
'cause i've got a mind to
Put your parachute on slow
We're moving into calmer waters
Where all your loveliness will show
For all of your wanting me to react to
"look no hands on this carousel"
For me to be true to whatever you cling to
Whenever your heart is going to tell

All eyes on me
I'm going to the moon
Time heals what you can't see
Heads back
I'm leaving soon leaving soon

Whatever it takes you to believe it
That's all right with me
Take this morning say it walks on water
Whatever that helps you to believe
You will find me down by the river
Getting high on my mortality
I'll be holding hands with my nameless beauty
Or whoever wants to stand next to me

All eyes on me
I'm going to the moon
Time heals what you can't see
Heads back
I'm leaving soon leaving soon

There’s a certain energy to this song. Quite good!
Really infectious song (that's a good thing).

is Obi-Wan flashing a white power symbol? (joking, folks)
She must have been screwed by her label.  She seems to be a musician with great potential.  From what I can tell, though, she disappeared into obscurity.  Her Wikipedia entry doesn't have any info about anything after 2001.
Brilliant song.
Such a big voice for such a petite looking woman...

I think that was her second album: "Who Do You Think I Am" was out in 1995.

Yes.

Great album.

I have to locate this CD in my rack. I love this album!!!
great great song!

One of my absolutely favorite songs of all time.

I thought the same thing.
This is the kind of ho-hum I actually like. {#Drool}
...oops..thought she was Vienna Teng.... duh   {#Daisy}
Cool, had one of her other tunes in the RP library going through my head most of the day.  This works.  Love her voice.
Never heard (of) her. Logged in just to say Lovely, Lovely, Lilting and Lovely.
What a shame that she doesn't record anymore, but I'm sure she's happy...
Germ of a song, from a lovely lady
But the song "No Mermaid" is a 9
Her name gives her high marks from The Court of Coincidental Celebrity Name Absurdity
...wondrously carefree!..
Love it!!{#Bananajumprope}
Nice tune. Very listenable. Great melody and hook. A little poppish but I could put it in the loop.
Is Radio Paradise starting its daily insipid half hour...... looks like it, one more poor song and I'm signing off.
Oh wow, what a treat!  I love this album.  Wish she made more albums.
James Vincent McMorrow, Susan Enan and now this. I have a sudden craving for a cool pint of Guinness.
Keep 'em coming. Bill.
I bought this album and love this song. over and over again. sad about her quitting

From what I've read she basically quit the music business, got married, started a family, and has no interest in recording any more. It makes me sad, since I really enjoy her album. This is one of my favorite songs from her.

I wonder where this lovely irish singer is to day. I want more from here! More at RP and more new stuff!
I heard this when it first came out and like it just as much now as I did then.
Great song, great singer. This CD is excellent. I hope she someday puts more music out.

Alas, a friend of mine who's a sound engineer worked with her this past summer - he says that years of cigarettes and such have ruined her voice in the same manner as tobacco has ruined Joni Mitchell's voice.

That's too bad, I always like Lohan's voice and thought she enlivened many projects by other bands.

That's really a shame. I remember I bought the CD for this song, and after two months, the CD was still in my player - I couldn't seem to stop listening to it!

I forgot all about this song! I like it!{#Cheers}

Weird, but good weird.

I'm with you. And I ain't Irish. Just love this!

This CD is worth tracking down, every song is great. Not sure why she didn't put out more music than a few CDs.
It's a very good record from beginning to end. Kind of surprising it wasn't a bigger hit.
Pop soda... but in a GOOD way!
The video for this song is great, catch it on Youtube. I hope someday she decides to put out more music.

The ebow-played guitar part at the beginning and the middle sounds like the first 5 -6 notes of Amazing Grace.  Anybody else hear it?
Been hearing this for years here and, while it's rather poppy, it's alright.  What is not alright though is the comical "I went to Cancun" hairdo.

Despite the album title, I can't help thinking Sinead Lohan would make a fine mermaid. Wistful thoughts of 'Local Hero' I suppose.

Funny. I'm a HUGE PT fan (seen them live 10 times and have never once seen Sinead Lohan) but I love this song (and this album) and would never turn it off in favor of PT. Differing styles of music for a differing purposes, I guess. Whatever happened to this Ms. Lohan, anyway?
...i adore this song...

Man! Such negative vibes. This is good. It makes me reach for my Mead and get up and dance. She just has a smooth voice.

Likewise. I think she's great.
I'm surprised I haven't heard this on TV selling toothpaste or something yet.

I'm assuming this is a re-issue. The original cover is less of a turnoff.

Sure, the cover is bad and dorky. But, she is one beautiful woman. Not that it makes the music better, but the album cover doesn't make the music worse either.

I thought it was ABBA
Indeed, I enjoy the voice, almost thought it was Poe for a moment. =)
Quite pleasant indeed, just nothing special. Great voice.
Is that Avril Lavigne!? Sorry, couldn't help myself....

Yet another seamless transition from EC/GS. You GO, Bill!
I think I just heard this on the Q Morning Zoo's Morning Commute Show. (I almost won tickets to the Coliseum!)
eeeerrh, hmmm, ho ... WHAT?
it does absolutely nothing for me. Bland with a capital B

It sounded great the first couple of times I heard this song, but now it just grates my nerves. Doesn't she have another song that could be played?

Keep it going Bill! You're on a roll this morning. Pretenders REM Smiths Sinead Lohan. Did you steal my playlist off iTunes?
i bought this album after hearing her cover of 'ramona' and then another track on RP. i must have been possessed at the time.
Go Gos anyone? (And I mean that in a good way).

It's OK - a happy song for the spur of the moment, I suppose. Nothing I'd listen to too often though. A 6!

I always do a double take when I see this artist's name appear in the playlist. What an unfortunate last name.
This is a fun CD, I recommend buying it!
That's 3 NINES in a row! Unheralded in my RP experience. MMJ, TS, & SL... KUTGW!

Another great artist I first heard at RP! I used to listen to this CD driving home late at night. Beautiful.
Sigh, for some reason, she has no songs in the itunes store. COME ONE APPLE! :(

A great "Crank it up while goin down the road" kinda song.
Nice upbeat pop. Nothing wrong with that every now and then.
No Mermaid is a great CD. I liked Joan Baez' cover of title track "No Mermail" but Sinead has the power attitude to pull it off best.
MUCH better than that other Sinead.

ABBA with an Irish accent. Wow!
This song makes me happy, for some reason :)
Juicy as a fresh stick of bubblegum, and just as sweet, and probably just as ephemeral. Not bad for the mood of the moment: 7
Extremely good - but not the best - on the \"no mermaid\"-cd! JNi
it sounds so happy! i give it an 8
MORE Sinead Lohan please. She is an amazing artist. Diving to be Deeper is also an amazing song. Glad to hear her on RP :D
I dig it... Just checked out the AMG listing - I thought this sounded familiar, something from the 80\'s - I was surprised at how relatively new it was.
Like this a lot, she does have a great voice.
Gets a little better every time I hear it. Eventually I\'ll start listening to the lyrics, too, instead of just enjoying the sound of her voice.
Nice tune.
I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!! :D :D :D
One of my favorites that I thought was forever lost till finding RP! Wow. It just keeps getting better and better.
