Can't blame it on the moon no more, no
Can't blame it on the radar weather
Can't blame it on my lucky stars
Or my mother or my father
Well, I'm holed up in the bell tower
Looking for four walls to bounce off
Looking for a donkey I could
Maybe pin a tail on
Well I've taken to staying up late
I've taken up bowling
I take a couple aspirin
And I call my lover in the morning
Well I've taken to talking to myself
And I don't even get it
Gotta get out of my head
It'll drive me crazy if I let it
Who Holds Your Hand
When you're alone
Who Holds Your Hand
When you're alone
So I put a cup of tea on
And I looked at Rand McNally
I put a couple shoes on
And I hurried down the alley
Now I'm driving down the highway
Trying to get the lead out
Rolling down the window
And I'm sticking my neck out
Who Holds Your Hand
When you're alone
Who Holds Your Hand
When you're alone
Hold on
Hold on
Hold on
Some people believe in Jesus
And I guess that works real good
Some people believe in God
Like they believe in knocking on wood
Religion is a picture window
Life is not a pretty picture
Rattles when the wind blows
And it never knew what hit her
Who Holds Your Hand
When you're alone
Who Holds Your Hand
When you're alone
Can't blame it on the radar weather
Can't blame it on my lucky stars
Or my mother or my father

A quick glance could almost make one think....wow, Robert Plant's sister! Great voice! Great song!
Seen her 2x at The Cedar in Mpls, MN. Live you can witness how skilled her guitar is; she's next level expert. Great live artist!
Catch Patty live if you get the chance. Her work really shines before an audience.
Religion is a picture window. Yep!
For a brief moment I thought it might be Katell Keineg, but no. Still a good tune and a fine performance. BTW, why no Keineg in the mix? Her stuff is awesome...
Clever lyrics. And a great tune. Plus: humor.
Bought the whole cd after hearing her here, solid all the way. Thanks Bill.
If the tempo were bumped up just a barely perceptible 2 or 3 BPM this would improve dramatically IMO. Good work, it just drags ever so slightly.
most excellent singer! : )
Whole effect a bit like a James McMurtry song for me.....
"I believe black leather is optional. I believe girls can play guitar. I believe it's not butter." Patty Larkin

spaceman pegged the one.
it's actually a pretty good song, the Paul Simon one I mean, not this one. i don't especially care for this. if it weren't for having the same cadence in the verses as that Simon song it would have simply been parsed as inoffensive background noise. i don't normally bother to rate my 3's and 4's but this one leapt out and demanded it!

Thanks - that was going to bug me until I figured out why that was sounding so familiar.

I like it - It might be cute if Bill would play Colin Hay's "Hold On To My Hand" after...
ugh... ANOTHER girl sitting on a stool strumming a guitar.

sounds like a Paul Simon ditty.
(edit - up til the chorus anyway)

Great lyrics, good vocals, nice instrumentals, what's not to like.

Reminds me of a cross between early Suzanne Vega and Melissa Etheridge. Grows on you. Nice. Would like to hear more.
Haven't heard this one before but I immediately recognized Patty Larkin's voice and style. She always does really quality stuff and this is no exception. A solid 8 in my book.
A beautiful piece of work.

Wow, Patty Larkin! One strummy singer-songwriter with actual talent! She has some truly exceptional songs.
Subtle, thoughtful, nice finish. Am I describing this song or a glass of wine? ;)
Pretty nice; a little like Dar Williams, but less goofy.
