Warped lovers loosed on languid stain
We've come together to gather stars
Shooting up stones our powdered hearts
Dead or alive
There's danger
The dead are all right, with me
We're not gonna run away,
We're not gonna leave you stranger
Turn the light on, yr lonely love
Camera on the haunted stones
Bloodshed a gentle painted score
Notes dance in ink across yr skin
Heiroglyphic lover, nature friend
Dead or alive
There's danger
The dead are all right, with me
We're not gonna run away,
We're not gonna leave you stranger
Turn the light on, yr lonely love
Me and my mates used to jam on drugs too. It was better than this.
Ha! Very funny!
But I doubt it.
funny to read the comments. just enjoy the music and stop being a tight ass trying to pass as a music critic....
That would eliminate most commenters.
Too bad they split up, great group

How I DO LIKE this song. Deceptively simple. Decidedly complex. Treadworthy scales and tonal rompage, it's all here and digable -- and all laid down right next to that killer SY straight-to-ground-line that gets me sitting up like one of Syd's old Siam Cats every single time. Aye, an' let 'er rip, lads and lassies! Now that you've established your grooveworthiness beyond all possible belief by playing stuff like this, Bill, how's about a little something off of Dirty maybe? Bill is that some BigHead coming on? YOU ROCK, DUDE!
Yes to playing something off "Dirty" or "Goo!"
Have to say I have never liked a sonic youth tune.....
Before this one
cool
..you don´t like Dirty Boots, Kool Thing or Daydream Nation?

Huzzah!
Really love the dissonant chords. Nice semi harmonic edge. Great tempo as well.
Good segue would be Gabor Szabo, Gypsy 66

Interesting! I, too, would love to hear the trippy jammings of the great and unfortunately obscure Gabor Szabo here on RP! Dig it!
Good segue would be Gabor Szabo, Gypsy 66 which I chose for my guitar audition at Berklee.

Ah, then Sonic Youth is clearly not for you - there is a skip button...
Commenting before skipping is the bomb.
It's true. Singing is high school boy. But it sounded fresh in 2004 against Eminem and Alicia Keys.
Totally, man. DCFC are like the better Sonic Youth. Something to be grateful for.
why?

Agreed, just bumped this from 7 to 8
I have to agree too. For some reason I really like this tune so bumping my 7 to 8.

Incinerate!
Back in my day, all the cool kids wore Daydream Nation shirts. Finally bought a SY album in 1994. It certainly is Trash worthy of No Star.
Still gave the band a chance by seeing them live in 1996. The fans loved them. I didn't.
Then Stones played here on RP in 2004. Whoa! What is this awesomeness?!
Bought the album. Four excellent tracks. I became a fan. The songs New Hampshire and Dripping Dream from this album are played here, too. I enjoy Paper Cup Exit to top the four.
Then arrived Rather Ripped. Though it's an uneven album, it does contain some outstanding tracks.
So I bought a bunch of other experimental albums issued in the 2000's. They have a huge amount of disks! Didn't like any others disks. One was a whole hour of guitar feedback (who does that?).
Then The Eternal came out three years later. The whole album is outstanding. I've listened to it hundreds of times. It's one of my favorite albums. I love it. My only complaint is the low budget recording. Regardless, I am so sad it was their last work together.
Excellent summary of most peoples' experience with SY, only the favorite albums change.
By the way: An hour of guitar feedback? Who does that, you ask?
google definition : writing consisting of hieroglyphs.
You may have to start working for an otorhinolaryngologist to experience the sonic part.
You're talking about Incinerate, right? I have hardly heard Stones on here before.

Correct....and I'm exceptionally impressed I actually heard SY yesterday also! Now if we could just dig into Daydream Nation, Goo, Dirty, Washing Machine or.....! There are tracks on all those albums that are appropriate here.

Good band that never gets enough recognition.

Definitely. Nice catch. Good song, by the way. I'll give it a 6.3.
Do you ever work with an otologist? They might do some sort of "sonic" tests.
I've read 100 stories where they were mentioned. Yet I did not own this fantastic piece of rock and roll music.
Until about 20 minutes from now when I leave work and head over to J&R music and buy this.
Thanks
