You're so pretty the way you are
You're so pretty the way you are
and you have no reason to be so insolent to me
you're so pretty the way you are

La, La, you got to say it if you want to
but you won't change me

The warbling modal/falsetto thing Dolores does is done pretty heavily by Alanis Morrissette, where it seems to give every line a sound of desperation.  I'm not really sure what I think about it, it's in that gray area between a style and a gimmick.  Well I guess I'll have to listen to more of it to decide.
Love the Cran!
Teenage lyrics.
Interesting, I don't normally like the Cranberries, but this is very groovy!
Sexy Dolores O’Riordan...interesting.

Try mixing it with vodka and a lime wedge...;)
For me there is a tipping point when a distinctive element in a band or voice becomes a self parody. For example, Michael Jackson's gasp/squeak, John Martyn's slur and Dolores' upward inflexion become tired and distracting to me after hearing them too many times and increasingly throughout their ouvre. What was original and different becomes like an affectation. Status Quo I think ended up parodying themselves quite successfully (again and again and again and again...).  It swings on whether the rest of the musical package/experience can outweigh the distraction!

Can't stand the Cran, man!
This one took my right back to the college dorms (probably was the last time I heard this song too).  Thanks for the memories Bill!
Such an emotive reminder of the time for me. Might be hackneyed for some but sounds full of the sincerity of youth to my aging ears.
RIP Dolores O'Riordan.

It's like the cattle call of the (Irish) highlands.
... nope.
Love this song so!! Haven't heard it in so long. Thank you Bill!

...meh - with the exception of a scant few well-developed and produced tracks, the preponderance of the cranberries' material comes across as hackneyed sophomoric filler to my ears...
Enough of the crapberries

How I loathe that celtic whining!
Oi - get on yer bike (as my Scottish father-in-law would say)...
Has that annoying "magician's wand / phaser" effect always been there or is this a different mix of the song? I don't remember it in past listenings....

Blech...this is a good example of why I don't care for the Cranberries.

I totally agree, this song is different from most songs but is sort of relaxing.

She can do that for me any time.
Yes, this is still good. Holding up well.

immediate puking as soon as a band came on would be enough to make me dislike it.
I first thought it was Sinéad O'Connor I like this too.
