No, no, you don't listen
Can you hear that knocking overload
No, no, you don't listen
Never see the high beyond the low
No wonder, you lay twitching
Do you share the rush to be alone
Come over, we'll go missing
We'll go where there's no snow
We'll go and they won't know
But just please don't give me your word
Do do do
Can you hear that knocking in your soul
No wonder, you don't listen
We'll go where there's no snow
Just please don't give me your word
Do do do...
Just please don't give me your word
All that matters is the music tonight
Just please don't give me your word
All that matters is the music tonight
But you don't listen
But you don't listen
Ah you don't listen
So, we'll go running, running til we start again
Yeah we'll run, we'll run away
Yeah, we'll go running, running til we start again
Yeah we'll run, we'll run away
Yeah, we'll go running, running til we start again
And we'll run, we'll run away
Reminds me of the Cocteau Twins
A lot. Cheers to that Cocteau Twins - Carolyn's Fingers (Official Video)
Love the Twins
Same. But I was convinced this was a Sundays song I never heard.
Cocteau Twins anyone?
Love the Twins
yes, it's a guy singing - yes, he has a high voice.....why does that make so many of you think less of the song ? sheesh
I actually like this song more after finding out that its a guy singing falsetto.
Not a bad thing.

Nope. I work at a Tier-1 academic referral hospital (150 beds, 155 physicians in 12 specialties) and we treat everyone who walks in the door, regardless of ability to pay. This includes things like CRISPR and oncology immunotherapy. We have patients whose outstanding bills are in the millions of dollars - I doubt we ever see a penny of that, but it's not an issue for our faculty or physicians.
We also run a regional pediatric 24/7 ER that maintains a pretty hefty deficit. No one's talking about shutting it down for lack of funds; in fact the plan is to expand it.
The tiresome health care debate in the US boils down to who's going to pay - not who's going to be treated.
Oh if only this was typical. Healthcare delivery in America suffers from being captive of the insurance industry. This promoted distortions in the market, encouraging healthcare providers to raise their fees dramatically at the same time negotiating discounts with insurance companies for health services from providers, sometimes as much as 90%.
This created incentives for carrying insurance since the threat of illness now was accompanied by the likelihood of insolvency or bankruptcy. Today, 50% of bankruptcies filed in America are to discharge medical expenses.
It may present in theory that everyone can be treated but that's only true if you have access. Having insurance does not guarantee treatment. I watched my late friend turned away from a radiologist because his Medicare plan didn't compensate as well as other coverages. On an referral marked "stat" they offered him an appointment three months out. Let's hear again how America's fee for service system will get you treatment at any facility(in network), without regard to state of the art technology.
NHS has its problems, most of which stem from insufficient funding. But in America, we decided a child's leukemia was a profit point. I want to know what OP thinks goes on outside his facility but this comment indicates a certain detachment from reality.
The singer must be very low on testosterone.
Tell that to Frankie Valli. I dare you.

Thanks for that good explanation.

"Academic Referral hospital". Meaning you need a referral to the facility to get ANY treatment. Can't just "walk in the door". That would seem to be boiling down to "who's going to be treated". "Ability to pay", may have something to do with who gets the referral?
Gone way too soon
great tune
Great voice regardless of anatomical part types.
Didn't say it wasn't great. I'd rated it an 8.

Yes, to me and probably many others it's quite a surprise that the lead singer is a man. But where did you get the impression that many of us think less of the song because of it? I don't think this narrow mindedness is a common thing among RP-listeners and I don't read it in the comments.
Great voice regardless of anatomical part types.
A very good copy though.
I kid myself I can sing this good/this well. Fantastic voice from a man or a woman. Great song!
? sheesh
I was sure it was Aimee Mann too. Funny. Nothing wrong with that, I like 'em both.

That's a keyboard not actual steel drums but I don't know if that improves it for you.
From the Wikipedia column to the immediate right: " ... The band's sound combines guitar and synths and features Greg Gilbert's distinctive falsetto lead vocals. ..."
* Greg Gilbert: lead vocals, guitar
* Aaron Gilbert: keyboards, vocals
* Colin Fox: bass guitar, vocals
* Rowly: drums and percussion
Nice sounding band but it would be easier for me to digest if it was a female lead vocalist...not a big fan of castratos in my alt / indie rock
What? The lead singer is a man? I love that Cocteau Twins kinda sound, but the guy-that-sounds-like-a-girl is...unusual. Silversun Pickups moves my needle in the same direction. I'll subject myself to couch analysis on that matter.
Brilliant segue for sure! I'm even going 7 to 8 on this one on the strength of the segue. Long Live RP!!
A gem if ever there was one. A little bit like Stereophonics except in a higher register.

Talented artist. Let's hope he is ok. If you read along the GoFundMe it points to major deficiencies in the NHS system, where care is strictly rationed. Here in the States he would be receiving state of the art immunotherapy at a top academic center

Here is an article with the latest news (from Greg Gilbert twitter account) - Greg Gilbert cancer battle latest - Delays frontman talks candidly about living with cancer (Source - Southern Daily Echo)
"Greg is currently enjoying a three month break from treatment, following a far more successful response to chemotherapy than anyone had hoped for.
He is not cancer free; no tumours were visible in his last scan but he has been told that there is a 99 per cent chance that they will grow back.
But today, as we chat in a Southampton cafe, the sun in shining, Greg feels well, and they are making the most of life."
Wish him the best recovery surrounded by his family, friends and band members

...And the Cocteau Twins.
+1
Very like later Cocteau Twins (which is no bad thing)
...And the Cocteau Twins.
First reaction was to think you were being facetious. I do like the song.
Like this - makes me want to head to a tropical beach and, well, be tropical!
wait......"GUYS"?
Not sure why Magnetic Fields tunes are not played - there's one (as-of-yet-unplayed) tune on the playlist. Maybe no one has attempted more uploads. This is a pretty cool tune - interesting mix of sounds.
In Library: Magnetic Fields - Papa was a Rodeo
Rejected: Magnetic Fields - All My Little Words
Rejected: Magnetic Fields - Candy
Rejected: Magnetic Fields - You Must Be Out Of Your Mind
Rejected: the Magnetic Fields - Busby Berkeley Dreams
Rejected: The Magnetic Fields - I Don't Really Love You Anymore
Rejected: The Magnetic Fields - I Don't Want to Get Over You
Rejected: The Magnetic Fields - Meaningless
Rejected: The Magnetic Fields - Swinging London
Rejected: The Magnetic Fields - The Night You Can't Remember
Rejected: The Magnetic Fields - Underwear
A couple of those are mine.
but: the (early) magnetic fields, however, did something like this, but a lot better. (on their first LPs "Distant Plastic Trees" and "The Wayward Bus" 1990 resp. 1991)
and that reminds me that one of the really BIG things i constantly miss here are those Magnetic Fields.
what for heaven´s sake did Stephin Merritt do to stay forever on the "things that never will be played on radio paradise"-list?
am i the only one who thinks TMF one of the best bands (or, better. projects) ever?

In the 80's....!
TERRIBLE!
It's OK.
I don't like Corvettes.
Bill covered a lot of ground between Peter Gunn and Wonderlust, (seems to me—all good though).
I agree. Some great music, and all very inspiring. Crap - it's darned near midnight, but I can't make my brain shut down...
And this is a BAD thing? I'm loving it.

Cocteau Twins meets New Order meets ABBA
I'm definitely hearing the Cocteau Twins, not sure about ABBA!
Because they were imagining what a beautiful voice she had before they realized it was a guy.
Sorry to reply to such an old comment, but I just had to!
I'm living in a bubble when a band like this has been around for 5 years and I haven't heard them before. Thanks for introducing them to me - you've done it again Bill!
P.S. Cocteau Twins meets New Order meets ABBA
I'm with you! What an amazing range that guy has, and how often do you hear steel drums in pop/rock music? These guys deserve more airplay.
Now Playing:
Delays - Wonderlust
Venus Hum - Hummingbirds
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Pipeline
Art Of Noise - Peter Gunn
