I give it a 5 to try to make the histogram level up. Otherwise I would give it a three. Not her best for sure.
I love her voice, it is so different.
I have to get this CD soon!

She created a headache where there was none before. I join these others who wish she had pursued a diffffffferehehehent lihine of wohork.
I just got home with my new Beth Orton CD and, while listening to this song on the PC, decided to check out its reception on RP. It happened that I just missed the song playing on RP. The reception among Reepers isn't great so far, but perhaps it will improve. I rather like the song. The disk is rather low key and resists easy categorization, but it's still rather appealing. Interestingly, I got turned on to Orton, especially Central Reservation, right here on RP.

If nothing else, it's well placed in the playlist. From Stars to this to the Butch Baldassari Trio.

Also very disappointing, just like the other tracks from this new CD. They all sound under-produced, like she just hit the record button and played away. I might've judged it more favourably if it was from someone else. From Beth I expect much better.
must agree. she should do a better job
I love her songs, but I'm not crazy about her voice.

I have a lot of respect for Beth Orton's music ... this is the second song I've heard off her new CD. This one isn't doing much for me, but I'll get the CD and listen to it in context before I judge harshly
Hmm. Not sure about this.
