I don't know you but I want you
All the more for that
And words fall through me
And always fool me
And I can't react
And games that never amount
To more than they're meant
Will play themselves out
Take this sinking boat
And point it home
We've still got time,
Raise your hopeful voice
You have a choice,
You've made it now
Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can't go back
And moods that take me and erase me
And I'll paint it black
Well you have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It's time that you won
Take this sinking boat
And point it home
We've still got time,
Raise your hopeful voice
You had the choice,
You've made it now
Take this sinking boat
And point it home
We've still got time,
Raise your hopeful voice
You have a choice,
You've made it now
Falling slowly, sing your melody
I'll sing it loud
Loud
All the more for that
And words fall through me
And always fool me
And I can't react
And games that never amount
To more than they're meant
Will play themselves out
Take this sinking boat
And point it home
We've still got time,
Raise your hopeful voice
You have a choice,
You've made it now
Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can't go back
And moods that take me and erase me
And I'll paint it black
Well you have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It's time that you won
Take this sinking boat
And point it home
We've still got time,
Raise your hopeful voice
You had the choice,
You've made it now
Take this sinking boat
And point it home
We've still got time,
Raise your hopeful voice
You have a choice,
You've made it now
Falling slowly, sing your melody
I'll sing it loud
Loud

"Take this sinking boat" of a song and open the Kingston valves so we can scuttle it that much faster.
I think the original version was much better and more raw.
I'm listening to "Falling Slowly" on the Listener Review area. The song is by Glen Hansard & Markéta Irglová. Excellent version of the song. Dunno if this is the same song or not.
I'd like to know (although I never will) who came up with the backdrop for the performance of 'Falling Slowly' by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova during last night's Academy Awards.
I guess someone thought it funny or poignant to put a dozen or so "perfect" guitars on display while Glen Played his trademark thrashed guitar.
Ain't Hollywood wonderful!
Like Baboo wrote, this song is from the movie "Once," perhaps in a different version. Regardless of what you think of this song, its a very good movie. Definitely recommeneded.

Was this song in a movie, or perhaps a trailer? Anyone know? Anyone? Anyone?
Yes - the movie is called "Once".

What's with the falsetto whining at the end of the chorus?? Oh, yuk!

Ok, I quite like this - I think it's the voice, very Cat Stevens but coming after the last few songs - I've had enough of this pace - I've got work to so can't afford to fall a sleep
Definitely not one of their best, but they are a decent enough band, with a good number of outstanding tracks... how about something else?
dreadfullllllll
They're pretty powerful live, but in this format, very unsatisfying.
-PL-
Is this Cat Stevens? It has to be... His voice is a dead ringer
Cat Stevens lives! (okay, not so much when he sings the chorus)
they remind me a bit of blue october....the lead singer sounds the same, except that he is not quite as depressed/dark. they both have the string instruments too. i enjoy rock bands with fiddles :)
I need a razor blade!

Not too bad. I kinda like it. Good enough for a 6.

Oh, how lovely is Lisa (she is nearly carrying him!) and gracious is Glen!
Yes, emotionally attached.
But it is coming to this.
Never thought I would post on RP...
*The near end of this cover was too beautiful to dance to.*
Never have I thought that.
Screw it, I'll take your time and say it again:
In 30+ years of: that guy who'll be out on the floor first,
... have I had that moment.
And yet you could rock out at the end.
Consider that there is something to this.
Thanks Bill & Rebecca.
Remember, there are those that agree, but don't post.
And here comes Bowie ;)
(It's still fresh, and I'm choked. A Giant.)
