Oooh

Can I stop my hobo wandering days, now?
I guess I'll hang my tears out to dry
I seem to notice more and more every day, now
You got my heartstrings breathing so right
I hang my coat high up on the hook now
I'll put my gloves down on the side
And I know that they will still be there when
I get those feelings need to run and go hide

I'm getting lost in with you every day, now
Or just sitting quietly side by side
Climbing towers and gtting mystery trains, now
Making tea and settling down
Kites, ice creams, jumping jumping trampolines, now
Waking up and I'll tell you last night's dream
Seeing things that no one else has, seen now
You're pulling on my heart of silk and strings

Can I stop my hobo wandering days, now?
I guess I'll hang my tears out to dry
I seem to notice more and more every day, now
You got my heartstrings breathing so right
I hang my coat high up on the hook now
I'll put my gloves down on the side
And I know that they will still be there when
I get those feelings need to run and go hide

Ohhh

Great singing, terrible backing: "I'll play this tedious wobbly little riff and then you bash that deficient drum, we'll do it over and over".
Whole Putumayo compilations are awesome

No kidding about the changes on RP.  After the 2022 revision, to continue listening on my old Mac, I've had to revert to the legacy site.
It is my best listening option in my work from home office.  Could use my work PC, but with all the Teams meetings, it's just not a good option.

No skip / PSD button, or comment thumbs up / down.
Also no filter to change the comments order on a song.
Stream fidelity is limited to 192K.

The songs continue playing song to song, but the song now playing info (rating, comments, etc,) section doesn't update.
I recall that it did change when the songs changed before, but that was a couple decades ago now, so maybe my memory is wrong.

This isn't a complaint, just a longing to enjoy the better site features now available.

About this song - I rate it a 7 and really like Allison Russell on this tune and her others on RP.
That is I would rate it a 7, if I could figure how to rate songs in the legacy website again.

LOL {#Yes} Exactly!  There is always the PSD (Play something different) button too.  Stop complaining and making negative comments people - EVERYBODY IS DIFFERENT!  Thank goodness {#Biggrin}

There didn't used to be PSD, which is why I believe Fred was talking about muting in an old post.  Apparently PSD has been around for a while at this point since your comment is nine years old.  Of course now it isn't labeled PSD, it is a skip button.  RP's had a lot of changes and iterations over the decades now.  I used to have to click on the 16 kbps link under the "How to Listen" tab, which would open in WinAmp 32.  There was no skipping other than that inherent with my extra slow internet connection.  So I had to mute anything by Phil Collins or Tracy Chapman or some others.  Then I would forget to unmute until an hour later and find out that I had missed like 10 good songs in a row.

You whippersnappers don't know how good you have it.

One thing that hasn't changed at RP is the great eclectic mix of music (other than the aforementioned Phil Collins and Tracy Chapman), and excellent segues that Bill constructs.  Which is why I've sent them money every month for several years now.
Reminds me little of one of the Koop's earlier albums - Waltz For Koop
One of the albums I bought because of RP.

did she sing on a Koop album?

Gosh, consistent opinions...;-)
Alice Russell rocks.
Many years on I notice she's creeping up playlists around the world.
Perhaps finally her talent is noticed.

Well, here you go, the very next piece today!  Hope you're still listening...  Bill never disappoints :)
I think it was skipping there for awhile.

You just missed it, Fred.  Bill played that about 15 minutes ago.  Here you go.

I love the Putumayo collaborations and have a large collection spanning their great world music. {#Smile}
Great voice. Sounds like a vintage Amarican chanteuse from the 1940's. Classic big band style jazz voice. Nice.
yessss for the  voice & the ryltm

Does anyone hear a regular sound in the background that sounds remarkably like a phone on VIBRATE mode on the table?

I had to take my headphones of 3 times to check.
Woop!!  {#Bananajam}
This song is really gaining on me. I gave it 7 on my last listen, but tonight I'm leaning toward promoting it to an 8. Has my feet moving! Txs Bill!
Ok! That's what I need in this moment! Alice Russel and a glass of red wine! Good song, a 7 for me
{#Dance}  Another sassy beat...  Tanks Bill
A fun tune for the end of the work week. RP does it again.

Nevertheless,  nice tune.

It does have that two-chord "shuffle" structure, but I don't hear much other similarity except for some bits of the melody line and phrasing - seems like different tempo and chords.  That's a great tune, though.  I like this one as well.

Listening to this song for the first time, and liking it. Reading the posts while listening, reading your post just as the xylophone solo is performed, and smiling at the coincidence of it as I agreed.

Try "Munkaroo" then. Only a dead person couldn't groove to that one.

As a matter of fact, I heard this while getting my root canal the other day.

It didn't help.

Love it
The perfect time to be repetative...
I love it too!  BTW.  If you like the songs RP features  from this CD...You'll enjoy the entire collection.  8.

The "keyboard" you hear is a vibraphone. It's like a metal xylophone, but it has a pedal which allows the bars to ring (like the sustain on a piano). I love it, too!

Best xylophone solo ever!
Wow - I thought I'd come here and find all sorts of negatives but, alas, I am in a minority!  Actually, I love the singing; it's that annoying repetitive keyboard (or whatever it is)....I feel like an epileptic fit is eminent
I'm really love'n this.{#Dancingbanana_2}

OK Bill You got me "High Up On The Hook"
I've been slack and broke of late, but...
$10 Tuesday's a Go! {#High-five}

This is good!
It's not often I'm moved to comment, but this track had a bit  more class and unexpected nuances than usual. I'lll be looking for more of Alice Russell.
Hopefully including the upper torso...{#Tongue-out}
This is the second time this song has fooled me with that horn interlude toward the end.  It sounds almost exactly like something from a Sufjan Stevens album, so I thought for sure it was a segue to him... :)

Man somebody is JAMMIN on the xlyaphone! Like the song whether she has big tits or not...but honestly if she was really hot too, then I might be even more inclined to check out a live show...what dude wouldnt? (Gay is an obvious answer)
The tits-talk is funny. Nearly more funny than the song. It's only average...
