It don't matter when you turn
Gonna survive
You live and learn
I've been thinking about you, baby
By the light of dawn

A midnight blue, day and night
I've been missing you
I've been thinking about you, baby
Almost makes me crazy
Come and live with me

Either way, win or lose
When you're born into trouble
You live the blues
I've been thinking about you, baby
See it almost makes me crazy

Child, nothing's right, if you ain't here
I'll give all that I have just to keep you near
I wrote you a letter, I tried to make it clear
That you just don't believe that I'm sincere
I've been thinking about you, baby

Plans and schemes
Hopes and fears
Dreams that deny for all these years
I, I've been thinking about you, baby
Living with me, well

I've been thinking about you, baby
Makes me wanna

Child, nothing's right, if you ain't here
I'll give all that I have just to keep you near
I wrote you a letter, darling, tried to make it clear
Oh, but you just don't believe that I'm sincere
I've been thinking about you, baby
I want you to live with me, well
I've been thinking about you, baby
I want you to live with me

no, but now i want to. this is a great song!

Those flowers look like some kind of semi-double peony to me. I'm hungry for artichokes too though.
I like this dudes voice...it brings to mind a beloved uncle of mine that is no longer with me here.  He'd sing just like this...really smooth.   I keep thinking about you Uncle
God, this is just such a dark and depressing song. Still love it though.
Saw the man performing this. A privilege. Superb!
I know it isn't but sounds a little like Tom Jones
Brilliant song and singing...video is a total trip...

no
Wonderful artist, collected his 45's for years, revered on the UK rare soul scene. So glad he gained recognition, albeit belatedly .. Quality will always out!
I saw these at The Shed in London, early 90s ... amazing!!
and they inspired other UK artists
Not dark enough! ...only kidding
I like the groove, and the lyrics are thoughtful, but it's a bit of a bore. Not digging the over-driven post production applied to the vocals. Only a 5er for me.
Massive Attack. Get out of their way. They deliver every time.

Hearbreaking video. The actress went Method for it, IIRC. Their videos are often quite good, cinematic, and thought provoking.
fantastic MA track . love it madly
Is this the Rag'n'Bone guy singing?
Absolute fan of Massive Attack, but this is maybe one of my favourites. Music and lyrics are superb.

Why do I hear the voice of Terry Callier?

Probably because he's the guy singing! Good, isn't it

I've upped my rating to a 10. not sure I've rated many 10s love.
This sounds like that video game song guy singing, forgot the name.

Umm...no.  They did better on the beetle album.

But I do like this album art.  Are those artichokes or roses?

I'm no expert but certainly not artichokes or roses. I'd guess hydrangeas. A beautiful spring flower trying to bloom behind, like, a massive attack?

Do love those drums.
When I start whistling  and dancing in my seat to the music it is  a great piece. I did both. I could really feel that song. Thanks RP
Wikipedia:
Vocals were supplied by the acclaimed soul singer Terry Callier, who was 60 at the time the song was recorded. Callier was an American jazz, soul and folk guitarist singer-songwriter from ChicagoIllinois, who has won a UN Peace Award for his humanitarian work promoting peace through his songs.

I think it's great and love Moby as well but what's funny is the next track to be played was Moby's All the Hurts We Made.

Who releases "EPs" these days?

Lots of artists still release EPs, though it's more often artists who are not signed to major labels.  Sometimes they are are digital-only releases.
This is  a great track. I thought I knew everything by them.

a lot of people release EPs. I think it's even more common the last few years.

Uhhmm, I think that's because the previous song was a Madrugada tune, w/ Sievert on vocals/guitar.  Just sayin'.....

I love this song, but combined with the video...it is heartbreaking.

Perhaps, but he was already gone by that 2006.  These vocals are quite cool - Terry Callier could feel it.

Now must spend the afternoon checking out not only more Massive Attack (I really only know Mezzanine), but also Terry Callier.

Oh RP, you are so very bad for my study habits...
Wow, I never heard this before.
Quite apropos for me at the moment.

I like this but Tony Joe White could do a great cover of this song - he isn't just Poke Salad Annie

Sounds funny.

It is from a SNL skit, with Mike Meyers,  called "Sprockets."  Mike Meyers played a German talk show host who would end each episode with, "You may touch my monkey," if he approved of the guest.  There was, of course, a monkey on a perch close by.  I loved it.  Here is the only clip I could find.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHZR9SA5pOg

I was listening top RP as I napped. This song brought me up out of sleep just so I could pay attention to it. Powerful!

I have to agree there...both versions, there's a slower one I think on an added disc that comes with the compilation, less produced, more emphasis on the vocals, which is quite pertinent here.
Is this originally a Massive Attack song?  I've heard the Twilight Singers do a live version of it...great tune.
Deep and passionate ..... "I've been thinking about you baby, nothings right .........

I have this song - got it on a compilation, but since I'm at work, I can't find out which one it's on.  I adore this song!
pure 10.

Vocals are real: Terry Callier.

Loving the vocals....................are they 'real'?

10....+ 1

Well, I love it! This is one of those songs that grows on you (or at least on me). I've been listening to this album for almost a year now, and every time I like this song more and more.
