In the morning we arise and
Start the day the same old way
As yesterday the day before and
All in all it's just a day like
All the rest so do your best with
Chewing gum and it is oh so
Repetitious
Waiting on the sun
Down on Go-stop Boulevard it
Never fails to bring me down
The sirens and the accidents and
For a laugh there's Plastic Nancy
She's real fancy with her children
They'll go far, she
Buys them toys to
Keep in practice
Waiting on the war
I feel shivers in my spine
When the iceman says his ice is melting
Won't be there on time
Hope he finds a rhyme
For his little mind
I can see you
With no hands (face)
Eyes I need you
You're my heart (face)
Look we're going round and round
Start the day the same old way
As yesterday the day before and
All in all it's just a day like
All the rest so do your best with
Chewing gum and it is oh so
Repetitious
Waiting on the sun

I like the way this song is produced, engineered and mixed. This song was clearly mixed to take advantage of stereo playback, something a lot of modern mixes seem to neglect. Unless of course they're one of the eleven songs being mixed for Atmos playback.
Great old song by a great old band that was way ahead of its time... Really strikes me on this listen how I hear echoes of this in XTC's work, "Senses...," 15 years later.
One of my Desert Island Discs. Never gets old, a profound work of art that has always resonated with me.
One of the best albums of the last 100 years
lol at Bill's description - "enough money to get into trouble, not enough to get out of it"
Thank you R&B for introducing me to Love, just great music.
This is the reason I love RP. Quality tracks no matter what the genre.
fuck - Arthur Lee… Albert Lee too but for different reasons!!!
One of the most influential albums of all time… All musicians know Albert Lee.
Love Who Floyd
groovy
I really appreciate you digging into the archives
for this....long live RP.........maybe Forever..

This was 1967, a lot of music out of San Francisco was badly recorded. Listen to Spirit's "Fresh Garbage," great song, horrible recording.

Might I suggest the far more rocking recording of this Album with Arthur Lee singing with an kick arse band. I think it's Arthur Lee live at Albert Hall. Beautiful, loud & modern sound.. Shortly before the poor fellow expired.
Still brilliantly ahead of its time.

I love The Who, even when it's Love!

Probably my favourite album of all time. Marvellous!
Kinda good that this was played juxtaposed/after Godless by The Dandy Warhols. It was like traveling back in time to some serious crappy music times in a galaxy far far away. Never forget!
My alphabet is fuzzy today. Isn't Love -- Moon spelled backwards?
I love The Who, even when it's Love!
Super, Man.
No single song is likely a 10, but the album as a whole certainly is.
Another RP first for moi.
If I was listening, and didn't see Love, I'd guess The Who or early Pink Floyd.
The 1967 Year of the Breakout: most acts distinctive, many sounding similar.

I'm trippin' on your music, RP!
I think the Foo may have borrowed this album art concept for their Wasting Light album.
Good song from one of my all time favourite albums.
This piqued my ears but I only gave it a 7 because I have a feeling it's yet another that I'll enjoy hearing a few times and then tire of. When first I began listening to RP, it never crossed my mind that this would ever happen. But a decade (and hundreds of songs) in, now I think I know which ones will flame out for me after a few years. Amazingly, Bill & Rebecca seem to have a better sense of what I'll ultimately find endearing than I do!

I think that there is really great song hiding here, but the recording quality is really crappy and flat, to the point where the whole thing has turned to mush. The intro would sound a LOT like the moody blues if it were just recorded better.
a perfect opportunity for some talented young fresh band to awesomely cover with the benefit of modern technology!
i gave it an 8 because it still has great potential...

There are some great Love tracks from wayback when. This isn't that terrific, I'm afraid. Check out You Set the Scene, Alone Again Or, or Seven & Seven Is to get a better feel for who this group was. Their leader, Arthur Lee, is worth looking into for any rock historian. To quote the Wikipedia entry, "There are some who say that Hendrix 'borrowed' his outlandish dress style directly from Lee."
I had the privilege to see Arthur Lee with full string section perform this album in the intimate Village, Dublin. One of the great acoustic albums of our time. Thanks Bill.
This is decent, generic psychedelia done well. I gave it an 8 because I like late 60s psychedelia. The other two ratings prior to mine are a 1 and a 10. Okay, people....get your heads out of your arses. Clearly, this is neither among the very best or the very worst songs you've ever heard, so get off it and learn how to rate honestly and maturely.
Sheesh, I expect more out of RP listeners.

Love Love.
