These are my twisted words
When I feel you still walking
I know I should not look down
But I'm so sick of just talking

When are you coming back?
I just can't handle it
When are you coming back?
I just can't handle it

When are you coming back?
I just can't stand it
I just can't handle it

God almighty it's the annoying polyrhythm hour.
Great to hear this on RP again, been a while. A classic.
This is their song that caused me to fall in love with Radiohead
THESE are my twisted words... These ARE my twisted words... These are MY twisted words... These are my TWISTED words... WOW: Jeez, these guys are GOOD!
I'm so tired of this nihlistic, sad band.
No other music makers have used so many notes to come off as one note only.

I never even knew this track from Radiohead existed. Thanks, RP!

That's weird - is RP on a massive endless loop cos they just played The The > Jesus & Mary Chain > Radiohead just now. Curious.

Radiohead peaked with Pablo Honey.

But IMHO those two records are among the top 10 or 15 albums ever.  Yes - better than Dark Side of the Moon.

And by my reckoning after those two Radiohead was totally free to experiment anyway they wanted to and for me 85% of those experiments have been really great.

I too feel like Radiohead built up an enormous amount of credit first with The Bends and then, to a lesser degree, with OK Computer. Then they dedicated the rest of their career to burning through every last cent.
Sounds like something from David Bowie's last album

Well, I do love Radiohead and I haven't heard this piece in a while but since these days I'm hearing too many Radiohead songs on RP I'm feeling pretty much like the song that was played before this one.
Yeah...still brilliant.
Much to my surprise, I quite like this. It might be that track you look for when the sun is right in your eyes on the horizon and you still have 2 hours riding to go. Monkey butt has set in, but you refuse to give in. This might just make it all bearable.
Perhaps that is what the album cover is all about, I just realised.
Love this
Nice!
I think that this borders on the sublime as far as improv of The Groove goes. It creates a sinuous, circuitous, fabulous, fun soundscape!

I agree but I'd say more like 14 years of ho-hum.
Amnesiac (2001) was their last great album in my ever-so-humble opinion.
Hail to the Thief (2003) was still very good but since then it feels like they're sliding down the wrong side of the bell curve.
Lima beans !!

I keep trying to like Radiohead, but I can't get past the often plodding rhythms and Tom York's nasal whining.

Here's the finished drawing of Thom Yorke. I tried to incorporate some of Radiohead's album covers into the piece. I finally fixed my scanner a bit, but it still washed out a lot of the lighter tones on his face. I'll probably tweak a few spots here and there over the week just to add more depth to it, but this is basically the finished product. It's an 11"X14" drawing done with a mechanical pencil and blending stumps on cream colored paper. Approx. 18 hours went into this piece. Thanks for looking!

EXCELLENT work - thanks for sharing!

Perhaps the best instrumental rock band ever. Just perhaps.
I hear Sonic Youth influence here.. very clear

I am in the lovers part but I don't mind reading the haters comments - most of the time I find them quite appropriate and very funny. I allow myself to have bad taste toward their standards. Which isn't bad taste to me. "Les goûts et les couleurs..."

This one is a 10
Saw these boys live in 1997 when OK Computer came out, in a small venue of only a few hundred people.  Absolutely awesome.  Diana had just been killed in a car crash and the set opened with Airbag....  I was probably in the presence of Small Gods.  Sadly, I just find it too difficult to follow their later stuff and they are drifting away from me.  Music shouldn't be that inaccessible and Yorkie is just too scruffy and mad looking.  Sorry boys.

The track was Morning Mr. Magpie. And while their music is fascinating and vibrant — I gotta  ask sardonically, is Thom Yorke supposed to be singing or recovering from uranium scorching of his vocal chords? Sorry, but live performance is not hidden by the arsenal of digital studio voodoo that can turn a screeching train car into an American Idol. And some of you here complain about Neil Young and Dylan? Spare me.

Sadly, but agreed. "There There", however, was nearly perfect, and two new songs are very promising

Interesting, I've never thought about any kind of relationship between PF and Radiohead. . . thanks to the both of you for stimulating a new chain of Radiohead contemplation for me. . .

Yes, I've long viewed Radiohead as the Pink Floyd of today — mainly in the way that both bands are able to be trippy and experimental while writing some really catchy tunes. And oh, yeah ... there are some fantastic lyrics, too. No big surprise to me that the Easy Dub All Stars' two homage albums are Dub Side of the Moon and Radiodread (both really good albums if you enjoy reggae).

Love this band, love how they grow on their own accord, not according to some popular trend, and yet remain enormously popular.  Because they are freaking great at what they do.

I think Howard Devoto and "Magazine" also had a big influence on Thom, not to mention Devoto looks as if he could be Thom's Dad

Hah, I didn't realize I had dreamt about this song last night until I heard it now. In the dream it was just me and my wife sitting listening to it like we used to do once in awhile with music; drink wine, smoke cigarettes, listen to cool music and talk. We will again as soon as the kid or kids grow up (minus the wine and cigs). I'll have to buy this song and play it for her.
the woman in the opium den is a beautiful photo: her face was considered quite the standard for beautiful back then.
the lion outside of his den: my long-haired chihuahua looks a lot like that lion when he lies on his back.
