Well, the stakes of the game seemed fine
'Till you lost after this time
Has to make you cry
But you don't and you don't know why

Trying not to solve this
Doesn't mean it's not that bad

And everyone gets through the night
And everyone wakes up alright
And the fear you feel will pass
Then a calmness that will last

We will learn to drift off fast

Another nowhere lullaby
You can rest or you can try
And this waste, it shines in every way
Yeah, this waste, it shines in every way

You make me laugh every single day
And you hardly make me cry
Made fifteen years fly by
Still here and I don't know why

Has it been that long?
Where's the time and the table gone?

Hope it's longer than that now
Don't forget we don't know how
And everyone gets feeling down
Everybody understands

We're all doing what we can

Another nowhere lullaby
You can rest or you can try
And this waste, it shines in every way
Yeah, this waste, it shines in every way

Has John Lennon come back to life?

You mean because the vocals are similarly off-key?
Flaming Leaps here and there

Why oh why Bill,  won't you play some older Built To Spill. I love of their newer stuff,  but the greater Radio Paradise universe NEEDS to hear Perfect From Now On at least,  or Keep It Like A Secret.  As much as you play this album (thank you)  I just don't understand.

Their latest, Untethered Moon, is also outstanding!

amazing album from an amazing band!
thanks Bill!
and for the listeners that feel compelled to compare musicians, Doug sounds as good or better than Lennon ever did.

I have to add my vote to that of the Insolent Nottingham Jury: 3
Wait, did I get that right?
 More like Neil.

Can we process the vocal to sound any more like Lennon?

Only a few vocal resemblances, but nowhere close to Lennon IMHO
Hints of John Lennon....
Never would have heard of them or a lot of what I listen to without RP.  Thanks guys!
Saw them last fall at a pretty small venue in Minneapolis.  I was hoping for a lot from this album which is very beautiful and melodic but most of what they played was pretty loud and more dissident.
Is this the same singer from Unified Theory of Music?
First day back at work after baca cation - thank god for Radio Paradise

I really like their stuff....and there surely is a Lennon influence.... but they don't sound anything like him.   I think they have their own sound and it is nice.

Another nowhere lullaby.  Oh, wait.  another meta-nowhere lullaby.

You mean because it doesn't sound anything like Lenon? Yeah?
Unmistakable mid '70s Lennon influence. Hmmm...homage or envy?
Built to Spill - an autorate Ho-Hum. Every BtS song is a lullaby, by design I'm sure - that album cover is very dreamlike. 3 from the somnolent Nottingham jury {#Sleep}

Yeah, I thought "that sounds like the Beatles" - ugh. I know, I'm probably the only non-fan

I don't hear it.
Not working for me. Sucko and barfo.

Can we process the vocal to sound any more like Lennon?
Great song, great record. "Carry the Zero" should be added to the playlist too. I'll upload that.
i like this song—-first time i really listened to the words...
A lotta people say they hear John Lennon in this guy's voice. I really don't. I do hear the Neil Young and Wayne Coyne tones more. But even with that, he still has a unique sound. Really like Built to Spill.

"8" - that simple

I bought this CD thanks for RP. ( =
i dig...
learn to drift off fast
you can rest or you can try

Okay song.  Wonderful album cover.
Nice!!
volume = 0.

Every time I hear this band come on I click to see which Death Cab for Cutie album this is.

This guy sounds like Neil......not John!  And they have a great mix goin'on too.
This album is on my "must buy" list.
Really didn't mind it.
Bad attempt to sound like John
Awesome lyrics... He succeeds in making poetry out of the absurdity of life and the subsequent despair. I like it sometimes when it's not light and a music, the lyrics and the voice take me to my own dark places
I wonder how, if at all, Doug's encounters with depression and/or SRI medications has informed his pieces
This guy's voice gives me the creeps.

Interesting song. I think I like it...even though it doesn't do much.

Imitation is a form of flattery my friend.  I don't know how Neil feels about these guys but BTS clearly love Neil's music. As do many other artists, but they don't all have a lead singer who has a similar voice to Neil. I like them a lot.
Beatles much?
This is built to spill as well:

Thats not so bad.{#Meditate}

really?
It's a 6-7 track ....
This is awful.
New BTS ... YAY! A little more lethargic than TS pieces I have enjoyed in the past, but perhpas it will grow on me (in a good way)
