Billy's got skills to go with those strings. Hope he doesn't fade away.
Great live performance of this song on Tiny Desk. Great audio setup too.
What a great song and an amazing musician. Wild he started out heavy metal - great story we can all draw inspiration from.
more Billy Strings please

As we used to say: "that car is boss".
69 Chevelle? Manual 4 speed? 350 V8? No power anything. Big ass 4 speed Hurst shifter on the floor.
It was boss.

Heard a little bit of the Dead in here...
love this song This is quite good methinks.
One listen to this tune and it’s pretty obvious why so many Deadheads are so crazy about this kid.
Repetitive. Brain drilling. Repetitive. Did I mention the music and lyrics are repetitive?

You should check out his performance with Bill Kreutzman's band Billy and the Kids. Billy Strings definitely gets the Dead. He's really incredible, very inspiring.
Something tells me, the Dead (or maybe Garcia/Grisman) would have made an awesome version of this song.

Go see Billy live if you get the chance. It will be a memorable experience.
best song of 2024!
Interesting that this song (with the lyric "I'd sing along with the birds") followed Sam Phillips' track Same Changes, which borrows a lot from the Yardbirds...
Billy is AWESOME!
And another "The future of our music" is killing it! He toured with my local homeboy, Marcus King a few summers ago, who was also handed that plaque. They are both storming the USA again. They seem to tour relentlessly. Billy just played I believe 6 sold out shows over 2 weeks up the road in Asheville, NC. And he heads to Atlanta I believe the next 2 nights. They are our future. God love them all.
Glad you're playing Billy Strings. He deserves plenty of exposure.
Many influences could be heard; but this is this, and great.

I love bluegrass, and therefore I automatically love Billy. First time I heard this song (whole album really) I thought “this isn’t bluegrass!!” Somehow that seemed bad. Then I realized that every time I hear it I like it more! Now I’ve decided I really like it. Not bluegrass but still great. Thanks Billy and Bill!
Cool track! Some Donna the Buffalo influence in there?
Another beauty by Billy
yay!
good LP too!
a late in the game (2024) good lp.....Jason Isbell's Weathervains was my top spot in '23....this may be '24!

I hear some Zappa in the guitar.
Gave it a 9. Thought about wishing for perfection. Changed it to a 10...
So happy you picked this song off the new album. The whole album is great but this one’s my favorite.
Billy's 2024 release Highway Prayers is sublime.
Mighty fine guitar work here... Kinda reminds me of Sufjan Stevens' "Jacksonville" in parts... Dig the '71 'BS' Chevelle in the pic, too! Highway Prayers; I can relate!
More Billy Strings!!
Nice!

More Billy Strings!!
Yes!
