Do I hear Stanley Clarke in there somewhere (speed shredding on guitar??). It would be great to have lineup that recorded album (at least for jazz).
Wow. Yous got a great ear for great bassists.
Stanley did fantastic work with the band: Return to Forever.
This also kind of sounds like the Paul Winter Consort from that same time period.
Amazing that RP is already a classic on the internet!
Trippy, trippy stuff.
YES! That is why we all come here! Thanx RP!

Outstanding.

It's the other way around, BRUH

McLaughlin; the Ornette Coleman of the guitar...
Mmmmmm. I guess it depends upon what phase your referencing. I don't think this sounds like Ornette at all on trumpet. He was really into deconstruction of songs. Heavy into tones...dissonance, simple but emotional sounds. He took Monk's ideas and really ran with them but avoided Coltrane's insistance on melodics and harmonies...and that crazy cat circle of fifths!
John Mc. is playing in depth arranged songs here. Not like Ornette.
