Look for comfort now, within these walls
For all these different days yeah, these autumn ways
Will slowly disappear
Will slowly fall apart
Drifting slowly, drifting clear

And all I want is, a little heart
A different point of view yeah, a different start
No time for feeling old
No time for feeling blue
No time for wasting what we know

Look for ocean walls, to gaze upon
These distance stars yeah, these distance suns
Are all the reasons
Are all the reasons
The only season in my life

And all I want is, a little heart
A different point of view yeah, a different start
No time for getting old
No time for feeling blue
No time for wasting what we know

Look for ocean walls, to gaze upon
These distance stars yeah, these distance suns
Are all the reasons
Are all the reasons
The only season in my life

Seasons change, baby! and, like this infinitely soothing and forever favorite song, that's a good thing. It's been a long, hot, kinda humid summer here this year... My Volkl Mantra 191s are calling from the closet as I think of the coming Ski Season -- we can't wait!  Bring it on!
Absolute endless summer vibe! Makes me long for the SoCal beach days back in the 70's.

Yet another disc I bought after being introduced to it on Radio Paradise. Thank you! and LLRP!

I really like Neil. I want to play this kind of music with other like-minded people!
A modern(ish) Nick Drake. Excellent.
I love this song - it always makes me happy!

One of the most perfect songs ever, and just like the changing of the seasons, I never get tired of it... By the way, it seems obvious that we've gone into new territory -- we never used to need air-conditioners at all here in Boulder, and definitely not at night... Temperatures used to drop right off! Sometimes we'd have to get up and close the window in the middle of the night, even in summer! We used to freak out if it went over 90 degrees F even mid-summer; tomorrow, July 18, 2022, it will go over 100! Fingers crossed, it hasn't been as hot and dry as the last couple summers so far, but...it's not cooling off at night like it used to, and if the daily afternoon showers dry up, we're going to be in big trouble! Thankfully, Boulder Creek still offers its accessible, bracing pools and rapids all along its amazing path through town! There is another stream that I hope never dries up -- Radio Paradise!

Simply wonderful
The central chord progression has a very old rock/folk sound, I can't quite place it. It sounds like it might be from 1973, it's hypnotic and endlessly enjoyable. Even though it basically repeats endlessly, I don't tire of it.

That's the Cynaera factor..........a simple insight with layers of meaning.

One of the best songs to mark The Seasons, for sure. With everything in local and global realms still stuck in such disconcerting sideways flux, it catches me more grateful than ever to be getting dug back in here, hearing this brilliant composition with dazzling January sunlight beaming in through the big windows, seeing the snow melting off the tops of The Flatirons across the street, grooving along in the quantum-entangled streams of The RP Universe. And now, if I can tear myself away, I shall go stomp my way up the incline onto Kohler Mesa for a more-proper Standard Orbit assessment of it all.

I got a real nice endless summer vibe, brilliant.
This was quite possibly the most magical of unexpected finds on RP. Almost always catches me vulnerable at this time of year, too... Now as I look over at South Boulder Peak, Bear Peak, The Saddle, Green Mountain, The Flatirons, Flagstaff, Mt. Sanitas, and the foothills of the Front Range, flanked in trees blazing in an explosion of autumn glory under this crisp azurean sky, I rejoice in my heart and soul...

Pure Zen. Always pulls me out of the moment and puts life in perspective. Love this song, and I love RP for making it a staple.
Thanks Bill for anything by Neil Halstead, or Slowdive, or Mojave 3.  Such a great songwriter....

I like this - yes….
Anyone hear the Byrds's "Rock and Roll Star"? Especially with that trumpet...

When I was in HS there was a gentleman who lived about 4 blocks away. He was a nuclear physicist and a M.D. His job was to make sure that the nuclear ships where safe before they went into commission.  I was told by his son that he would get in screaming matches with  Rickover,. Some of which where in the halls of the Pentagon.  This makes Rickover's change of view even more interesting.

I had no idea how odd my neighborhood was. A guy who lived two doors away was busy building the first search system (engine) at the same time.  It was at the the Library of Congress.

Rickover was known to have shouting matches in the middle of the Pentagon halls with Dr. Walsh.  Who was responsible for the health of the nuclear navy.  Walsh  was a MD and a Ph. D. in nuclear physics.  Just one of the characters who lived in my neighborhood.
What great simple album art.

Bumped my rating from a 7 to an 8. I'll probably bump it up again the next time I hear it.

Both songs have chord progressions which are descents a tone apart (i.e., D-C and G-F).  Many songs throughout history have used that progression.  It's far from "completely stolen".  "Influenced by"? - probably.
Perfect on Sunday morning!

In my point of view, nothing really happen during this song: no break pattern, no vocal change... maybe the trumpet tried something at a moment, but I felt bored until the end

Just came off the beach with the fog rolling in and out. This song feels so right. Bumped to a solid 8 baby. Solid 8. {#Daisy}
I always listen to this in the fall. But feels so right to hear it now as spring finally arrives in the northeast.
this song's a gem.
Yup, I hear that a bit, too.

Luvvit.
Ya'll ever notice that a song that would never score better than a ho-hum as background music suddenly surges at least two notches when you put on the cans and the song suddenly becomes full of interesting elements..........
Seasons come and go, and the years go by faster than can ever be imagined by us on the verge of each... I love this song, from its clear echoes of Nick Drake to its lovely arrangement, its sparse and subtle horns, its captivating lyrics, its ability to always transport me
Haven't been on the RP comments pages for a long, long time.

Had to comment here though.

Beautiful tune.

God bless you Bill.

Another Autumn came blazing, then it faded; another Winter comes...  Another Season, another time hearing this, and yet another chance to marvel at the lyrics, now cutting deeper than ever..."And all I want is a little heart, a different point of view, a different start..."
Likeable, but completely stolen from the Sandells.
Former shoegazer turns out alright in the end. Nice vibe Neil

Haven't heard this before; how beautiful....
A local art museum -- the Spruill Center for the Arts -- had, for several years, this crashing wave painted as a mural on the barn wall facing the road to and from my home.  Made me listen to this with an especially open mind.
Nick Drake + Endless Summer
Love this mellow soothing mindscape...another year has passed, another season in transition...this forever reminds me of coming back from a romantic autumn leaf-viewing wine picnic along the SenGawa in wonderful Setagaya-ku long before the radiation ruined things...
Perfect song for a road trip in this Oregon sunshine, windows down, feeling good about the present moment and this great song. {#Sunny}

No punishment there in my book.  Music done well comes in all forms—I'm not sure what problem you have with sensitivity and breath.

Always seems to catch me in a remembering moment and mood...connects me to things melancholy and bittersweet...but good God, what a lovely (I concur and always thought so) Nick Drake-like arrangement and soft shifting vocals!  No place quite like RP...
