What's up with my heart when it skips a beat (skips a beat)
Can't feel no pavement right under my feet (under my feet)

Up in my lonely room
When I'm dreaming of you
Oh what can I do (wah oooo)
I still need you, but
I don't want you now

When I'm down and my hands are tied (hands are tied)
I cannot reach a pen for me to draw the line (draw the line)
From this pain I just can't disguise (can't disguise)
Its gonna hurt but I'll have to say goodbye (say goodbye)

Up in my lonely room
When I'm dreaming of you
Oh what can I do (wah oooo)
I still need you, but
I dont want you now

Oh yeah

Ohhh Ohhhhh

Up in my lonely room
When I'm dreaming of you
Oh what can I do (wah oooo)
I still need you, but
I dont want you now

I love this song.  Never understand why you seppo's have so much trouble feeling the mersey beat.

Come on, man, this song has an average rating of "7"; I'm not sure what leads you to believe that listeners of any continent have "trouble feeling the Mersey beat" in this, or any Merseyside song.

Still thinking of Scrubs in 2017 {#Cheesygrin}
This crosses so many genres. Love it. Bit of doowop, bit of ska, some Motown, mersey beat, sprinkling of country.

Could you help with a bit more detail on how this connects with Ms. Chalke, who is quite attractive even at her current age and fully clothed?  Danke!

OK, it's silly to respond to a 2 year old post...but I'm wondering if this was in reference to a Scrubs episode?
Great follow up to Badfinger!
Another great song with the right kind of bass line, from our free range DJ-Bass player.... {#Clap}

A great song because 1st it is awesome and it has those poppy riffs that even those with a very large stick in their ass can't deny, 2nd because it reminds of young, scantily clad Sarah Chalke, and third they ended it on time... 2:21 is just right... well done... 8.

What quite interesting is that the exact same thoughts cross my mind every time I hear this song.
Gimma a C....a BOUNCY C!

One of the best British bands of the last ten years...latest album Butterfly House is rather good!

Yep, me too. I actually first discovered this song on Virgin Radio, out of London. I used to listen to it at work all the time, and this song was regularly played at the time. Not long after that, it was featured on "Scrubs", which is also one of my favorite shows.

that would be Martha and the Vandellas. This Coral song sounds like the Supremes - My World is Empty Without You
It sounds like that song being sung by Manfred Mann. Nice throwback sound.
Got a Motown vibe.

Now, I never would have guessed that :-)
This song only makes sense if you're going through what he's describing. I am. I love it.
This is even worse than the Racontuers!

I absolutely love this song. For some reason, it reminds me a bit of Ricky Nelson...anybody else?

so "The Coral" is what Neil Diamond goes by these days.

This may be the best set I've ever heard on RP: Ben Folds to White Stripes to Death Cab to The Coral. Keep it up!
This is one of the best albums of 2002, highly recommended! Bad Man and I Remember When are also great tracks.

Sorry, but this singer sounds JUST LIKE Billy Joel. That's not such a good thing usually...
I do not hear that AT ALL. Interesting...

Catchy tune \:D/
Belt it out, baby.
Don't want to like the song... but... I... can't... resist......

If anyone remembers Cast and the Lightening Seeds.. Lightening seeds divided by cast, multiplied by 0.0000000001 = the coral
Ian Broudie, the man behing Lightning Seeds was also the record producer of The Coral... I don't think it sounds too much like Cast thought.
jamming baby
I Love this song! :D :) :D :)
Like others have noted, I always mistake this for Billy Joel. Never been a big Billy Joel fan (except for the Bosom Buddies theme song - that one was alright). The music isn't quite as good as Joel, though, so I'm rating this one a 3.
Dig it!
K - I thought this was being played a lot on , but it's now getting up there on RP too. A little lighter on the rotation please.
This song's a hoot. \:D/
I'd love to hear more from this band.
On first listen, I love this! Whether it will stand the test of time is another question.

But he has too be better looking the Joel.
Glad to see you got round to playing this, Bill. The Coral hail from just across the Mersey, so it was a nice segue next to the Beatles on the playlist. Have another listen to 'I Remember When' if you get the chance - Ian Skelly has a helluva voice for a young kid.
Awesome! :bananabanger:

I remember the Lighting Seeds! I have one of their albums, and I'm like this band, the Coral. Don't know the Cast.
It\'s a great song, and great to hear such a well developed, cool and \"new but retro\"-sound from a band that\'s really young.
What a great song. Man... that mixes so many styles and drags them kicking and screaming together. I like that... I like it alot. :bananabanger:

This song rocks! (pimp)
They played this song on an ep. of Scrubs a while back, and it totally stuck with me, but I had no idea who it was. Yay! Thanks for solving the mystery.
YeeHAW! Got turned on to these guys a while back...lotta fun. Thanks Cagey!
