So if you're lonely
You know I'm here waiting for you
I'm just a cross-hair
I'm just a shot away from you

And if you leave here
You leave me broken, shattered I lie
I'm just a cross-hair
I'm just a shot, then we can die

I know I won't be leavin' here with you

I say don't you know
You say you don't know
I say... take me out!

I say you don't show
Don't move, time is slow
I say... take me out!

I say you don't know
You say you don't go
I say... take me out!

If I move, this could die
If eyes move, this can die
I want you... to take me out!

I know I won't be leaving here with you
Oh, I know I won't be leaving here
I know I won't be leaving here with you
I know I won't be leaving here with you

I say don't you know
You say you don't know
I say... take me out!

If I wane, this could die
If I wait, this could die
I want you to take me out

If I move this could die
If eyes move this can die
Come on... take me out!

I know I won't be leaving here with you
Oh, I know I won't be leaving here
I know I won't be leaving here with you
I know I won't be leaving here with you

As it happens, Gavrilo Princip did take him out.

There is a group called Gavrilo Principe in Serbia.
Cure-esque!

If you did, you'd kill it.

Another reason I love RP:
The breadth of knowledgeable snark that permeates this place...  :-)
I don`t remember them playing live in Sarajevo..

Good song, but the lyrics...
NHL 2013 anyone? My favorite sports title to date.

I... shouldn't... lilke... this... song... but I do. Take me out.
Snipping fingers all the time > must be upgraded > al least 8 !

Played this album over and over again during a road trip in Scotland! Great memories!
It's also one of the first songs I learnt on bass :D
Upped my rating after this listen
I've got a soft spot for any song from the early Guitar Hero games.
Love this!  Tremendous video!  Like Monty Python taken to the next level.

Love the fact that with the new player I can read about the Archduke of Austria-Este Franz Ferdinand when listening to a song by Franz Ferdinand. X--D
They're from Scotland!
Alex Kaporanos went to the same school as my kids in Edinburgh
They are on Chemikal Underground. Greate Glasgow label
Man, I love this. When it came out, I was teaching at a big uni in the shadow of Fuji-san, and the other ex-pats and I would sit outside on the patio in the garden next to the koi pond, and we'd talk about Their New Sound; so wild, unrestrained, and pained with uber angst...

Play FF this year for the centennial of World War I.
10 years already?!  Yikes.  Good stuff here.
Takes me back to when these guys first came onto the scene...FEELS SO GOOD! Fredriley also referenced Gang of Four; I always thought the blistering Telecaster power-chords that start and scatter hooks throughout their songs were oh-so-similar, and hearing this always makes me wanna dig out and hear that weird one the Gang sang back in the early or mid-80s: "Love will get you like a case of anthrax..."; the Entertainment album I think, and every song had thrashing guitar, mad rocking bass, wild rhythm shifts and wacky fun at the vocals; Franz Ferdinand revive and ride the style quite well...
 fredriley wrote:
The insistent rhythm and raw bass really shows up the influence of The Gang of Four on Franz Ferdinand, and influence which IIRC they acknowledge openly. Go4, although relatively obscure, were highly influential on a wide range of artists, and the compilation double CD "return the gift" has a stack of remixes by bands such as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Dandy Warhols.

+1
I hear a bit of Roxy Music in there
These guys put on a good show at Lollapalooza.

There's always a way to avoid commercials "ruining" songs: Just don't watch TV. You'll be surprised how much better you'll feel :)
Early 21st century nostalgia!

I don't think you really hated "to remind everyone"; you probably enjoyed doing so.   Is it possible to shoot a song in the back seat of a limousine which had taken a wrong turn?

I've never heard this song, nor have I seen the commercial, if there is one.  I rather like this - it sort of bludgeons me in a good way. {#Dancingbanana_2}

Do you read Ken Follett books?  Very cool stuff, the most recent of which is set in this era which obviously goes in depth about Austria, FF, etc.

Boring...
There's an awesome video for this song. YouTube - Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out
Now I remember why I hate this song, another perfectly good song ruiniated by commercials. Sorry, it does not make logical sense, but when you hear a song over and over hocking a product, it most definitely diminishes. I know that I am not the only one that feels this way.
play it again Sam {#Cowboy}

I suspect you're not being ironic. Believe me, this side of The Pond, FF have had a good few hits other than this one. Their star may have faded in recent years but they're still a big band in these parts.

YES!  Excellent pick-me-up tune during the middle of the workday.  Wish I could watch the music video to go along with it!

FF, and particulary this song are overplayed over here in Serbia, so I've completely lost criticism about it. Biased 5.
I don't care if i heard this song from GTA... I still love it! so good!

I just danced to this great song in my room.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the root of this song. Several have commented on the Zep connection, but no one has mentioned the REAL source - Robert Johnson's Terraplane Blues (look it up!){#Devil_pimp}

Remix... not bad
Cover by Scissor Sisters... awesome

I love how the first couple of seconds of this song sound completely different from the rest. It completely baffles my confused brain, and there's just something fun about that. Maybe because the song rocks.
Somebody was definitely listening to some early Roxy Music...
