and darkness takes it's place...
We will pause to take our rest.
Sharing songs of love,
tales of tragedy.
The souls of heaven
are stars at night.
They will guide us on our way,
until we meet again
another day.
When a poet sings the song and all are hypnotised,
enchanted by the sound...
We will mark the time as one,
tandem in the sun.
The rhythm of a hymn.
The souls of heaven
are stars at night.
They will guide us on our way,
until we meet again
another day.
When the dawn has come
sing the song,
all day long.
We will move as one,
bear the load
on the road.
The souls of heaven
turn to stars
every single night
all across the sky...
they shine.
Please more Camel!
YES! I Agree!
Please more Camel!
I Agree!!
More from them Please !!!@
Will have to get Rajaz.
I really loved some of their work in the Seventies but try as I might I can't summon up any enthusiasm for this. What is the point?🐨
That's a shame, why not? Andy Latimer's work stands up to the test of time......if you like this genre.

Really boring cliched guitar work here. Reminds me of Pink Floyd
Really boring cliched comment.
Thanks for playing Camel
One of the best Prog Rock/ Jazz type of all time.
Mel Gibson on Sax !!!
Ummm. Collins. Not Gibson.
My wife's alma mater... Indio High School Rajahs.
I wonder how many high schools have that for a mascot?
Cat City Lions own the Rajahs.
Love this one, does anyone know how the rest of this album is?
The rest of the album is great. Similar to this track. If you like this check out their Snow Goose album. Great underrated band. Still going in a different form!
Had to check to see if this was David Gilmour. Everything about it including the guitar solo is a copy of PF.
Yeah! How can they get away with that! It's an exact copy of Pink Floyd! Except for the voice. And maybe the drums. But a copy, man! Oh, maybe the bass and the other instruments. And the guitar playing.
Maybe the guitar solo has a similar tone. Hey, how can they do that?
Yes - Sunday nights 10 PM, right? Also lots of interesting Jazz Fusion!
And don't forget the King Biscuit Flour Hour before that !!!
One of the best Prog Rock/ Jazz type of all time.
Mel Gibson on Sax !!!
that drop in between epicness in sound form. Pure eargasm
Does anybody remember Stone Trek on KOME in the 80's through 2000's? It was a weekly progressive rock radio show in San Jose. Greg Stone played all sorts of great stuff like Camel and Marillion, as well as more obvious choices like Yes and Genesis. Camel always reminds me of those days.

They weren't obscure back in the 80s when they were pretty popular in the progrock scene. I was into them back then, when purely coincidentally I smoked Camels. It's nice to hear them again.
Nine out of ten doctors who tried camels went back to women...
Tony in NJ
W.A.S.T.E.
There was also the 'Canterbury scene' with bands like Soft Machine and Caravan, which had quite a dedicated following and a suprisingly strong fan-base in Japan!

Wow, love this song, and will now look up the band. I was reading down the comments to see if others heard Morrison in there too. That's a plus.
Hear Jim Morrison? Not me. Absolutely not. The vocalist reminds me of John Wetton of King Crimson and Asia, if anyone.

They have been at the Prog Rock thing an looong time. A friend turned me on to their earlier stuff and while they are no Yes, they are very good.
Thank you RP for playing.
Musical heaven.
However, his voice is too treacle for words. Like coming across the singer on the stairs at the Animal House frat house, I just want to make him stop!
Guy's more of an acquired taste, though. Nice fellow, great Zep cover artist too.
Other than being critters though, not a lot the same, stylewise.
Moonmadness and Snowgoose are worth a listen for sure.
I embarrassingly am 'discovering' Camel for the first time and am very appreciative of Bill and RP introducing me to this band and to number7 for sharing the suggestion on Moonmadness. Wow - what a great album. I do not know how this band slipped through the cracks on my musical journey. Better late than never!!!
Gotta love Radio Paradise for moments like this!!!
That'll be Andy Latimer.
I saw Camel life more than once. Amazing. Listen to "A Life Record" ('76-'77)
Are you referring to David Gilmour? Whereas David Gilmour famously played a Fender Stratocaster, the guitar used on this track is, to my ears at least, a humbucker-equipped guitar.
Why only a 7.1 rating? Most like it, but not that much?
Both the people I know who like them were fans from back in the early to mid 70's.
Not my favored fare, but good stuff none the less
A good but obscure guitar band.
Does it hurt? Definitely a 2 bricker.
Noodling to the max.
Nice relaxing tune.
Moonmadness and Snowgoose are worth a listen for sure.
Agree absolutely. Both are terrific albums.
Want to better understand how Steven Wilson plays guitar? Listen to Andrew Latimer.
EDIT: The moment RP plays the full 10min Ice (Live) I pay them USD 500
I would have sworn it was Peter Green. Same beautiful tone and lyrical phrasing. Mr. Latimer must have been a fan.
Or vice versa, lol.
For me they are in different, equally likable universes.
Moonmadness and Snowgoose are worth a listen for sure.
According to the credits, it's Andy Latimer.

Excellent. I like this song! How do not to let go itself. The theme absolved to relax.
I discovered her accidentally there is about ten year and I do not grow tired of it.
Thank you !
I really like CAMEL
Great song!
Ditto that remark😀🎸
I doubt even Hallmark would use these lyrics; it's almost like they were written by a random lyric generator. The Ziggy comic strip had more depth.
The guitar work is very nice though.
I recognise camel's voice and style ipso facto
yep
"Shazzan"!!!! poof
you should be trademarking that phrase dude."The Essence of Meh" I bet hollywood is already moved on that. or Nike. The new cool! Which of course we know is lame. Like this limping wannabe deep, piece of vacuous of plodding camel dung.
Oh wait what's brown and sounds like a bell? Dung!
I wonder how many high schools have that for a mascot?
The things I learn on RP . . .
same here.
Oh, the blasphemy!
All the comparisons to other guitarists.
This is Andrew Latimer and he has influenced a lot of guitar players - NOT the other way around..
Eeeaaasy... Not my intention at all, i wouldn't know who came first or who influenced who or something like that. I'm just sayin' it sounds very identical to Snowy White at times, but you could put it the other way too i guess... It's just based on what i know, so.... No harm intended...
*edit, i googled it, it seems Snowy White is a year older than Andrew. So i guess it would be hard to say who influenced who...
