"i've long since retired, my sons moved away,

('Cats In The Cradle')

3 -> 2, rather awful music piece.
Great song indeed!

there are only 12 notes and some people put them together better than others.
I hate the rolling stones

Forgot to mention that Ejnefjall sent along a very nice hand written note--I would think something he wouldn't have to do but had the thoughtfulness and courtesy to make the gesture.

I hear what you’re saying… Music is a wonderful thing but once you’re trying to please everybody you’re up for a disappointment. I should make it no secret; I am the man behind the bargain Halloween costume. However, I never felt that way about it. I’ve been trying hard for a long time and I know the late hours and the passion that I put into my work. It would be pointless to argue with you since you have total freedom when it comes to your opinion. I have a lot of love and respect for the artists that inspire me and I would pay tribute to them any time. They’ve changed my world. I understand I will not change yours… and that’s fine with me. I’m just doing whatever feels good and right at the moment. Giving you a response aligns well with that philosophy. I shouldn’t say music is just music since we both know it’s a lot more than that… I do what I do and obviously that doesn’t appeal to you. Shame… Good to hear you know where to find your love though!

I would not let it bother you.  We are pretty candid here.  Go read the comments about Radiohead -- the band I live for.  Pretty scathing stuff.  It might make you feel better. Personally, I only get rough if the band is a chart topper a few times over.  Thanks for chiming in.  Keep reading because there will be more comments to come and they generally balance out pretty even.

This is making me think, always a dangerous proposition. My first impression: I don't care for it. It even offends me. Why? Seems so inauthentic to my ear. Okay, but what makes something authentic? I really like Gillian Welsh's take on Appalachia and practically worship Chris Thile's bluegrass mashups - but neither of those folks have a genetic or personal background in the lifestyle or regions where the music in which they excell was born. Both of them, however, have done the work. Lived and breathed the canon of their genre to the point of mastery. I can take good-natured parody. The Rolling Stones' country bits or the Byrds' Lover of the Bayou. There's some love, appreciation and familiarity there, however filtered or imperfect. This is just a cheap plastic off-the-shelf bargain Halloween costume, to my ears. Little effort, little results, overblown expectation. Discuss?

Isn't this Wally Cox's latest?

Sweet to see this artist plugging RP on his website!
What a nice international switch-up.  Nice!
