I'm back
inside of you
it's so nice to be here
it's just a quick stop
I fly around in underwater
on hotel connected to Electrical Tables and feeds

tju tju

but waiting makes me sad - fragile kick
and call ING - have to go - help

tju tju

I burst out and the peace is in the air
bathed in new light
i Cry and I cry -unlinked
un used brain put on a breast
and feeds of Sleeping angel

Great segue into this from Edvard Grieg's Morning Mood. You guys rock.
Top song, I love it!

Thanks for playing this. Thats what I needed now.
I read all the negative comments and can’t deny that there is truth in those comments. Yet I am completely drawn into this song and others by this band. And I’m exceedingly grateful that RP introduced me to a song and band that I definitely would not have discovered on my own.
Quite sublime....
Wow, there are a lot of people who really hate this tune. Seems pretty good to me but that is just me.

Thanks for listening to me and my band. I'm here to relax you and make you comfortable as we go on an amazing journey together while I utter unrecognizable words.

Now take a deep breath and look into my eyes... Don't worry, your screams won't be heard of my bowed guitar and tju tju tweeting.

Gorgeous opener of an amazing album that gets better through its duration.

Surprised by the low rating on this one, –it's not a far stretch from the highly (over) rated dreary dross from Talk Talk.

Ahhh. So meditative. so contemplative. Ethereal. Moody. Repetitive. Grinding. Ear-drilling. Whining. Plaintive. Off-key. Boring.
Their singer gives me creeps. Eeew.
There may be a time when I would listen to this song...but that time is not now !!!!!

It really is very, very, repetitive. And, the timbre of his voice is really irritating  !!!

I gave it a rating of 2 because I would listen to it less than 20% of the time...actually

more like 10%.

I do however like texture of a lot of their Music. But, the singing I can do without !!

wow..    this is bad......

Ridiculous this terrible supersweet violin-coating over each and any song. No rythm, hardly any melody and this sickening "language".
The whole SR-thing is a hoax. It can't be nothing else. How old might their fans (fans?? really??) be? Twelve? Just eight? Liking lullabies? Or are they even adults? Grannies maybe? I just can't figure it out.
I read about them, downloaded their albums and was terrified. I deleted all! Then I read again, wondered if I had been ignorant and loaded the same albums again and gave them a real chance another time. Same thing: I could hardly stand a single song. This pussy-attitude. This whining. This childish melancholy. Please point out a single, just ONE (!) single song of quality and I take anything said back and download that song a third time for good!

Really angry,

OH GOD!! Please.. is it really You? Shoot me!!!
Sort of like repetitive, slow sneezes: Achoooooooooeeeeeeeooooooooo....... Achoooooooooeeeeeeeooooooooo....... Achoooooooooeeeeeeeooooooooo....... Achoooooooooeeeeeeeooooooooo.......
Oh my god - the pain...my ears are BLEEDING!
Sigur Rox is more like it
Someone, please kill me now...
Fellas, I just gotta have more cowbell.
Johnny, quit making your little sister cry. Stop teasing her. Don't make me come in there.

I can appreciate that sort of facetiousness, but in this case....I hope this isn't the most representative of Sigur Ros. I dig this sort of music, but this one alternated between unintentional hilarity and sheer boredom.
I was standing outside my office and listening to this yodelling. I was trying to turn it down telepathically. (That never works.) It sounds (to me) like Swiss Miss joined The Pink Floyd in an elevator. Still soothing, but I'm trying to work and not space.
As the song went on, I kept downgrading, 3, 2, 1..................
I'm waiting for Svefn g-englar (can I buy a vowel mix)
I quite like this, some serious mood music with a great vocal for a capper. :meditate.gif:
I can see both sides of the "debate" here. It creates an interesting atmospheric mood.
Sure they may be fantastic live, but im at work, and Im not feeling the "mood". Im feeling sleepy... toppermustard wrote:

aarrrgggghhhhh!!! Dreadful.
What a beautiful noise. Not an easy listen - I've had to suspend work for the duration. I feel blown away.

Jaw dropping stuff Seen Sigur Ros twice in the live arena, the sounds and atmospheres that they can create is simply out of this world IMHO
I like to think I'm pretty diverse in my musical taste but I'm so not digging this one. It's making me cringe.
syd barret on acid....LOTS of acid...bleh

This has been the playlist from hell!
I'm glad I am not the only one that finds that last song pretty darn annoying at the least and I am glad it is over! :P

It's too bad that most people just don't get this group or their material. Live they are even more amazing... the work this guy does with a bow on his guitar is mesmerizing! I have no idea what he's saying, but it isn't about that. His voice is an additional instrument that makes this piece even more haunting and beautiful. Say what you will, but at least these guys are original and different.
well-said Mark i love many songs of this group

this doesn't sound anything like king crimson. well, maybe a little like "court of the crimson king," but only on a very superficial level. stylistically, it's worlds removed.
Holy Fripp 'n Eno, Batman!
Sounds like the Radiohead of Iceland.
Pink Floyd? no..... Boards of Canada? no, not them either.... wait, I got it.... King Crimson!
Yikes -- you people got up on the wrong side of the bed today! Even though I'm having a really bad week, I really liked this. Yes, it's weird. Yes, it's different. But it's also hypnotic, and transporting, and as someone else said, it grabs your attention. Lighten up, folks! I wouldn't mind hearing this again.
sort of like a moose call
In A Gadda Da Vita is still better!
ick.
its a good thing they only play the ORIGINAL mix. the extended mix goes on like this for 37 minutes.

I like the way you said that, and the way he doesn't. Love this song, it's dreamy.
I have to agree with my wife on this one... It's kinda cool at first, but she does repeat herself a great deal.... a very great deal.
Personally I think this is one of the best songs that has come along in this vein for a long time....hypnotic and transporting....given the language barrier it truely becomes a work of impressionism.

Strangely (or not) I understood this album a whole lot more after I visited Iceland this summer (musically - not lyrically -fuhgetaboutit!) - It kind of reflects what a strange, amazing country it is. And I second whoever said it is great to fall asleep to....gives me good dreams 8)

This wouldn't be half bad if the vocalist wasn't tone deaf and apparently suffering from extreme pain.
This album is really nice to put on and fall asleep to. Works best on a cold cold night.
These guys are absolutely amazing live. This is one of those albums you have to just put on and listen to all the way through. I want to move to Iceland.
He plays the guitar as a violin .... incredible poweful sound.....icelandic, cold, chilling. Very unique.
Listening to this person repeatedly lyricly sneezing "Achoo-oo-oo" is making my skin crawl.
this is absolutely horrible!
I think this is terrible.
