I'll never quite understand
Why we love to carry on wars
As we do
And I haven't yet opened the door,
That your bullets are already
Flying through
And I wish you'd stop
Claiming you surrender
Lay down the guns if you do
You accuse me of standing guard
But wouldn't you?
Honey you're so quick to skip
From praise to slander,
Devil or Angel,
I'm nor one nor the other,
And I'm sorry if I, if I disappoint you so
And I'll never know where to stand,
When all your hell
Breaks loose,
And I haven't yet said a word
that retaliation troops are
On their way.
And I wish you'd stop claiming
You surrender,
lay down the guns if you do
You accuse me of standing guard,
But wouldn't you?
Honey you're so quick to skip
From praise to slander,
Devil or Angel,
I'm nor one nor the other,
And I'm sorry if I, if I disappoint you so
Mmmmmmmmmmmm
mmmmmmmmmmm
mmmmmmm
Mmmmmmmmmmmm
mmmmmmmmmmmm
mmmmmmmm....
And I wish you'd stop claiming
you surrender.
Lay down the guns if you do.

If she thinks of relationships as wars then perhaps it's time for her to become a conscientious objector. After decades on this planet I have never understood folk who go into relationships then spend all their time fighting and arguing. If you don't enjoy it or get something out of it, then pack it in.
It's the lyrics that do me in on this song. Her voice is sort of ok, but the obsessive introspection is a turn-off. I hope it was cathartic for her writing the song.
If only it were that easy. The struggle is real, ongoing and will always be the subject matter of musicians, artists and the like.

Vocals and tone sound a fair bit like Chinawoman that Bill's been playing lately. I am having the same reaction to Lou... meh...
Everybody in my church loves this song...

I strongly suspect your average male finds that about ten times easier than would your average female.

Wow... this song is awesome... unique and quirky music with sophisticated conceit imagery in the lyrics... love it...

..i like the lilt to her voice..song's sorta understated, yes, but it fully explores the relationship-as-war metaphor

The song disappointed me. Yech. Started out okay and then just drug itself along and ground itself into the, uh, ground. Where else would it grind itself?

It just gets boring after awhile. Maybe monotonous is a better term. Once you've heard the first verse you've heard the whole song.
nice

THUMBS UP! I like it.
Oh I really like this, too.
