You came running out of the dark
With the tears in your eyes
This time I'm not afraid
Cause my heart's ablaze
Baby throw your head back!
Let your hair down!
Baby let your hair down
It's time to get enchanted
You're a deep sea diver
Tides are turning in your favor
You came running out of the dark
With the tears in your eyes
And the moth and the moon saw
A new religion being born
Baby let your head fall back
And laugh like you never
Tasted such a good thing on your tongue
Baby let your scream come
Baby let your scream come...
Said you been taken over
By a deeper animal
You've been changed
What's grown up around you
Is a different skin
You thought I wouldn't know your face
Baby if you can't see out
Know that I can hear you shout
And darling if you can't see out
You know that I can hear you shout
With the tears in your eyes
This time I'm not afraid
Cause my heart's ablaze
Baby throw your head back!
Let your hair down!

"Abacab"?! Are you serious? I just don't hear that, but then again, I've tried to avoid hearing - or even thinking of - that atrocious "song" for the last 30+ years.
There's so much of Genesis' "Abacab" and Police's "Ghost in the Machine" in this song and on this whole album you'd have thought Hugh Padgham produced it.

If we hadn't just heard Chrissie Hynde perhaps I would feel better about this. A tad precious.

This is a song that improves with repeated listens. And in the case of this CD, repeated views .

have to not judge here. sorta erotic... twinky. no score from me.
To much ring, ring, kling, kling. bing, bing for my taste. The voice is to much in the background. That should not be IMO.

Guess everybody's different. I feel exactly the opposite. I LOVE this whole album, its the kind of album that I listen all the way through. Her previous album was good, not great for me.
I got this CD on the strength of Natasha's first CD, most of which was brill, and a couple of tracks played on RP. Sadly it's been underwhelming for me, a shame because I really like her voice which can be exciting and vibrant when extended, which isn't the case on this album IMO. Nice cover photo, though - you can carry me around any day, Natasha

At it's best the ambient genre creates haunting musical spaces through it's use of repetition and the counterpoint between vocalist and melody. This song encapsulates these qualities terrifically. Only on RP does this exquisite track live alongside The Black Keys and Steely Dan. Bravo (as usual) Bill!

Just now realized the album was not called "Hunted Man". The mind sees what it wants to see...

Saw them in concert recently--excellent. Great band and Natasha was captivating.
Aaarrgghh! 2 awful songs in a row - never been hit with a triple play of puss here before - fingers crossed it doesn't start today.

It's called sarcasm. Wow. I got drilled here earlier. Need to wear a helmet around the forums from now on.
By the way, are the two of them making the sign for Pi?
Natasha Khan's father is Pakistani. Not that this has anything to do with your comment or why I pelted you on the head earlier, which is what I will continue to do to anyone if and when I feel the urge. Yes, here at RP we must wear body armor.

Hmmm, wonder how this album ranks with others on RP, vis-à-vis the clicking of the "larger album art" button...

This I can get behind. Especially if it means I never hear Laura again.
I don't get why she's about to airplane spin that overly lean guy. She should at least be making an angry face.
So I'm docking one point on that basis alone, but overall a good song.

These guys need to be benched for a while, they're getting WAY overplayed here.

I have to admit it... I'm getting a little tired of Bat For Lashes. I know Bill has recently discovered them, and we get to hear several tracks a day, now, but let's not overplay their welcome!

Excellent! Something new to my ears that is interesting and innovative. A brave and original cover image helps. I'll give this a 9 right out of the box.
