What do you think "their real agenda" is? My take is that Biden and Harris are trying to help Americans (especially the ones who aren't "too affluent, had it-too-easy") hold onto their jobs and homes. Joe and Kamala are also trying to restore the economy and somewhat level the playing field while also trying to combat global warming. Oh yeah, they also want to make our democracy more inclusive for American citizens who have a right to vote.
So again: what do you think "their real agenda" is?
Circling back to the "complacent and too-affluent, had-it-too-easy-too-long semi-wilful ignorance of it's people" quote: most Americans these days are not complacent or too-affluent.
And yes, there is a group who display willful ignorance (forget about semi-willful) who would help America fall deeper into the toilet while they hold onto a vision of this country that doesn't work anymore. But that group clings to Trump, not Biden and Harris.

I guess being out of the country, you didn't realize that from day one Donnie never put in the hours or effort. It would cut too much into his "me" time of sleeping, tweeting and golfing. He had no interest in the job itself outside of what it could do for him. Kind of a perverted Kennedy thought: "Don't ask what this country can do for you... ask what this country can do for me".
He lost interest in tackling any problem which lasted more than a couple of days. Hence the COVID debacle.
He was tops at creating division and chaos though... I'll give him that. He did that bigly.
