There's a fine line between love and hate
That we erased That we erased
What started as a mask became a face
The pain untraced The pain untraced
I been a long time searching for you
I been a long time breaking through
Gonna be a long time getting
Over you Over you
Standing in my doorway facing south
The moon comes up the sun goes down
Wondering what this noise was all about
The dust blows in the light blows out
I spent a long time looking for you
I spent a long time breaking through
Gonna be a long time getting
Over you Over you
Down the road I see the fog roll in
As thick as fear as dark as sin
We live in an age lit by lightning
After the flash we're blind again
I been a long time searching for you
I been a long time breaking through
Gonna be a long time getting
Over you Over you
Over you Over you
That we erased That we erased
What started as a mask became a face
The pain untraced The pain untraced
I been a long time searching for you
I been a long time breaking through
Gonna be a long time getting
Over you Over you

Over you Over you
Over you Over you

Not that I mind, but for the last 2 days I haven't been able to get away from T Bone. My iPod kept playin' him, and now RP. What up with that?
Consider yourself lucky.
Sounds very Eric Anderson.
Best music
Awesome!
Love the early comments - those before there was a "reply" button.
This song has been around here a loooooong time, unlike some of the commenters.

Exactly what i was thinking.
His name alone deserves an 8. He sure sounds like, Andy Maize, the lead singer for the Skydiggers.
Sounds like Rodney Crowell ... nice.

Wow...wish I had been there.
T Bone Burnett played a great set at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass this October, on the Friday before the thing overflowed with people. He casually brought Neko Case out from the sidelines. There were other guests added, but the ease with which he gets these folks to show up, unannounced, must be a measure of the esteem that other musicians hold for him. He referred to his fellow performers as musicians, as if he does not make the grade, but see him if possible. After that one one hour set I can recognize his sound anywhere.
Wow...wish I had been there.
Didn't T Bone do a song featured on Dr. Demento?
Not real crazy about this song but the guy sounds like this isn't his best. There seems to be potential there.

Aha! So this is the guy that put together Robert Plant and Alison Kraus. Have you seen his picture in the cover of "Raising Sand"? Classic.
Sounds a bit like REM's Electrolite ?
TBone, great. Song great.

This is the same T-bone from O Brother Where Art Thou, and the same T-bone that was with Bob Dylan a while back. I believe Existential Blues was Steve Earl.
Easy to confuse "Existential Blues" by Tom "T-Bone" Stankus with T Bone Burnett. Why not T-Bone Wolk? BTW, Steve Earle issued Transcendental Blues.
I haven't heard this T-bone tune in like 20 yrs or it seems. Good stuff then, and it seems to have stood up to time well.
I just really started listening to T Bone this year...he's got a lot of good tunes for sure!!
This is the first I've caught on here though....

Such a great artist. Wonderful lyrics!! He's one of my favorites.
"Wondering what this noise was all about"
My thoughts exactly
He's had so much impact on artists like Bonnie Raitt, Los Lobos, Jackson Browne and others, I have never really heard him on his own. thanks!
Is this the same T-Bone from Existential Blues? ;)
Lets not forget that he played with Bob Dylan once opon a time.

Guess I am not in the mood today.

yes, he's not someone you hear very often. A hidden gem, kinda like Daniel Lanois: they're both powerful behind the scenes, but they can write and play and sing as well as they can produce others.
gotta love RP for playing tracks like this.

Here is a crossover from country to rock that *really succeeds*! This guy is a master of what he does.
Can anyone upload his version of "Diamonds are a GIrl's Best Friend"? It's a blast.

A good overlooked song from an overlooked album
Then clean out your ears - T Bone has intelligent lyrics, great tunes, excellent production (just ask Los Lobos, Elvis Costello, Sam Phillips ;-), ... More T Bone!
